Board members have considered the question should PSU play the freshman Veilleux. It is a tough spot for a freshman. But this has happened before to PSU.

The old timers on the Board will remember 1988 and Tony Sacca's freshman year. Due to QB injuries and if I remember right alcohol issues to another QB, Joe was forced to play Tony Sacca. Tony was a freshman and talented but no college experience. I was at the Rutgers game at Beaver Stadium that year. Tony missed an open TD throw (was it 4th down?) and Rutgers held on for the win. My memory is a little shaky but it seems a former PSU assistant coach was the Rutgers HC.

Pop Quiz answer the name of the former PSU coach without looking it up first.

I bring this up as Veilleux may well be talented just can not be ready to take on the starting role. But the coaches need to get him ready as this is a physical sport and things happen.
