Guess we will learn sooner rather than later how the so called matrix spits out some of the seeding. Should be interesting to see if someone like nick lee is not 2 then he could wind up at 4
Don't worry. Everyone will have plenty of time to freak out because they will seed Tariq #2. Book it.
I'd be fine with that if Nick is #3 and Rivera is #4 or #5
Is there some way to drop Rivera to 8?
Is it a 1 or 2 match difference to get to 3rd thru consis from losing a quarter vs a semi? With Eierman’s propensity to pin people ...
Consis = 2 rounds per equivalent championship round bracket.
However, placement points factor that in along with bonus.
If he lost in quarters, he'd have to finish 3rd AND pin/TF every match to get the same points as if he won the title on regular decisions.
Also consis means less rest between matches -- with every 2nd opponent dropping in from the championship bracket and thus being fresher. So it becomes increasingly harder to rack up that bonus.

Tbh, doesn't matter. If brackets go as planned (they rarely do) #4 gets #5 in the quarters. I've always looked at that as nearly equal seeds, much like #8/#9.
