Trace McSorley, The Wizard

Misty morning, clouds in the sky
Without warning, the wizard walks by
Casting his shadow, weaving his spell
Funny clothes, tinkling bell

Never talking
Just keeps walking
spreading his magic

Evil power disappears
Demons worry when the wizard is near
He turns tears into joy
Everyone's happy when the wizard walks by

Never talking
Just keeps walking
spreading his magic

Sun is shining, clouds have gone by
All the people give a happy sigh
He has passed by, giving his sign
Left all the people feeling so fine

Never talking
Just keeps walking
spreading his magic

Gus comes up with some interesting nick names! During Butlers first final four basketball run, I remember him referring to Gordan Hayward as the "Baby faced assassin." Gordan is in the NBA now, maybe it will work out that way for the Wizard.

At times it sounded like Gus was a secret Penn State fan.

Yeah, I thought if anything he was favoring us. Even in the first half when we were down and looking terrible, he was giving us mad props about being able to come back when he could have been hyping Wisconsin and their dominant defense.

I know. As I just posted in another thread, while these guys are supposed to be impartial, it was nice for a change to hear a guy in our corner.
I'm not sure if I'd want a steady diet of Gus Johnson........

But - and this coming from a guy who 90% of the time has the sound muted when watching any college football games, not just the PSU games - a pair like the two who did the B1G Game (who actually commented on the game that was taking place), would probably allow me to listen in without coming to the conclusion within 5 minutes that silence was better.

BTW - Those highlights show one of the plays that I found very interesting (and reason to be very optimistic about the future of the offensive line)

I have really been pleasantly surprised with both how the OL has progressed this year (I think we all expected some continued improvement as we moved from 2014 to 2015 to 2016....but the growth rate has been higher than one could have reasonably expected....and they've done that DESPITE what could have been crippling injuries to Nelson, Palmer, and Mahon)

I think you want to recognize the work of the individual kids.....and certainly give Limegrover props.

Anyway - - - - on the TD pass to Barkley (the last of the 4)......GREAT job by Chaz Wright (who is probably the last guy most of us would have thought of at the beginning of the year if asked "Who could play a wining level of OT in 2016?")

He only got a piece of his guy.....but that was a well disguised "zone-blitz" type of look (although it actually put Watt in man coverage against Barkley - - - but the look up front for the OL was a classic "zone-blitz" philosophy.)

UW had Watt on the edge - and Wright HAD TO be very cognizant of that.
They then dropped Watt out - - - - but replaced him with TWO blitzers to that spot.
Wright did a GREAT job of quickly recognizing what was going on, and got "just enough" of the most dangerous blitzer to buy McSorley just enough time to get the throw off.

That's the product of good coaching (and good "learning")

9 times out of 10.....that blitzer comes totally clean (11 times out of 10 against the PSU Offensive Lines of 2015-2015 :) )
