Comes down to 'do I make the decision that's best or me, or do I let others make the decision for me'. The staff is/should be driving this point home.
The staff doesn't have to walk in this kids shoes in his high school and community for the next 6-9 months.
How much pressure can there be? Have you seen their “home” stadium on gameday? Where are these fans who will be pressuring him?

At the corner store, in school, at church.......everywhere he goes. You'd have to be an idiot to trivialize how adults can make life a living hell for a young kid. It's a form of bullying. I'm sure the kid is thinking gee its only the 20k that go to Pitt Games....F them. Come on man.
Don't be a stupid blind Penn State fanboy and understand that these are little more than overgrown children. They don't have the coping mechanisms of adults......and very few adults could handle daily hazing.
I'm a PSU fan and if the staff wants him, I certainly would love to see him come here. But be a little sensitive to how difficult it can be for a kid living in "enemy" territory to commit to the hated "cow pasture university."
And while I'm at it.....anyone who doesn't think a small segment of so called PSU fans don't disgrace themselves with prospects on twitter and the like, isn't paying attention.
While I hope he ends up at PSU, I want the young man to have a good life.

It doesn't take 107k fans to make a kids life a living hell. Especially as a gifted young athlete who probably because of his exploits on the gridirons have earned him "god like status" I'm sure he had no inkling what the reaction would be.
On the Lair they accused Franklin of plying the kid with "escorts and drugs." They also refer to Franklin as "Milk Dud," which is patently racist.

Nothing is less attractive than anonymous internet message board fans with a raging inferiority complex. There's always some nefarious reason why a kid would pick somebody other than your team.
If Pitt fans cannot contemplate why a local kid would pick PSU over Pitt, well......
Happens with many fan bases and message boards. Go to any board - especially the bottom feeder schools - and that's the only defense on why they're a lesser program and losing recruits to a more successful program for many. It actually gets hilarious at times
I find this amazing that adults would openly pressure or comment to a kid about choices he is making for his life. Have to say i have never witnessed anything like that, but I am not living in Pitt.

The Lair replaces the Sunday Comics. Its a laugh riot. Admittedly since PSU and PITT don't play its diminished. However, If anyone says anything negative about their football program, they're labeled "Nitter." I mean, I'm talking roll off the chair, belly laughs.

If that's true, what exactly are they implying about Tyreese's character if that's what they think he would be swayed by...? Doesn't seem like the type of fans I'd want cheering me on if that's what they thought of me.
Regardless, if he's going to be on and around Pitt's campus and getting pressure for the next several months as a PSU commit, it would make a lot of sense to decommit, even if it's just temporary, to improve the optics on both sides of the commitment.

Fisher's mother passed away. Members of the staff were at the funeral this past weekend.
Some have speculated that Fearbry's family would prefer that he stay home to go to college. He was at the Lasch Bash and the door is open if he wants to take the scholarship. We shall see. I suspect he will be Lion and reaffirm this Fall.

It's not like there aren't PSU alumni and fans in Pittsburgh. Pitt can't even fill it's small stadium -- I cannot imagine there is that much pressure on him in the community.
The rumors I’ve heard is his Sister wants him to go to school at home. Mom wants him to go away and get away from the kids in his neighborhood. Supposedly, he was upset when we recruited the 5* DE. He wants early playing time at DE. At his weight I don’t see that happening anywhere!
My sister is a Pitt alum and hangs out on the pay board over there. She said, per posters on the pay side, Fearbry’s family wants him to get away from the city for school. If he was upset about DDS, he wasn’t paying attention. Plus there are two sides to the line. And lots of rotations (playing time).
Decommits happen at all the top programs especially when a school keeps recruiting kids at the same position. I read on Eleven Warriors that OSU has already had 3 decommits this year and I'm sure - without checking - that some of the other big programs (Alabama, Georgia, Clemson etc....) have already had a couple or so. These are 16-17 year old kids with their own way of thinking
