My high school coach was Joe Sarra. He had a profound influence on my life. He remained my mentor until he passed in 2011. I spent my coaching/teaching/administrative career trying to live up to the example he provided me. I feel sorry for the cold and timid souls who don't understand.

I loved Joe. True. But once again you couldn't be more confused. I am a big admirer of James Franklin. Not only is he the perfect coach for PSU, he is also a damn good guy.
I know this much. There are at least 2 dozen posters who frequent this site who forget more about football as they sleep each night than you will ever know.

I think most of us would love to win titles but understand that a MNC is a feat only ONE team achieves and how difficult it is. It's not the end all if we still enjoy our games. The all or nothing approach is plain wrong
And I've acknowledged that your approach is fine but you claiming the other approach is "wrong" is exactly the problem. I don't enjoy beating teams we should nor do I have to. I enjoy watching these games to see where we need to improve and hopefully watch them do so. This somehow isn't acceptable by your own words so many here start fights with anyone who shares my approach. The difference is I'm not going to backdown. Again, you said above my approach is wrong. It's not. Accept that.

This is a football forum. I am not looking to attack anyone. I was just curious if you enjoy the games at all? I really lost track of what this thread was focused on when you started bringing up letterman jackets. I am in my mid fifties. PSU games are something that I look forward to every year. The ugliest win is a million times better than the prettiest loss. So I am asking you do you actually enjoy the games?
