Evidently it's ok if it's your "young guy", but not ok if it is another teams "young guy". See all the related threads on the subject.
UCM fan? Wow, you don’t often come across one of those, even here in CoMo. What’s your connection to PSU?

I know injury status updates are harder to get than the nuclear codes, but anyone know anything more about Ant-Knee's shoulder and recovery time?
Educated and wild guesses both welcome.

The coaches plan a press conference this afternoon for a full update. It'll be on Flo with Pyles asking the only questions.

University Park, PA -- Fans of the defending national champion Penn State Nittany Lions wrestling team have been on pins and needles this holiday week, hoping and waiting for even the slightest hint of news regarding the status of injured star wrestler Anthony Cassar. Cassar, the defending champion in the 285-lb. weigt class and currently ranked #1 among the national polls, appeared to incur a shoulder injury last weekend at the U.S. Senior Nationals freestyle tournament in Fort Worth, Texas. The Nittany Lions, who are widely considered co-favorites for the 2020 team championship with the longtime rival Iowa Hawkeyes, would suffer a devastating blow to their title hopes if their senior leader were to be sidelined come March. Head Coach Cael Sanderson provided some much-craved insight following a practice yesterday.

"Well, Cassar's a little dinged up," said Sanderson. "I can't really say just how bad it is, you know . . . we'll just have to see how he progresses with his treatment. It's up to him, really."

When pressed for details about said 'treatment', Sanderson offered little detail.

"Raptor's eating. He's eating a lot. I can tell you that much. We like what we're seeing with his eating. I mean, if the Big Ten Championships were tomorrow, you'd probably see him in there. But we'll want to take some time to continue with the diet and see how he's doing before making a decision. There's time."

Naturally, there has been some skepticism about whether Cassar will take the mat again this season, as there have been very few sightings of the affable heavyweight since Sunday. Some have questioned whether he's even been with the team since the injury.

"He's eating in the room right now," Sanderson retorted. "He's close."

Sanderson does have other capable wrestlers at heavyweight, most notably redshirting freshman Seth Nevills. But when asked whether pulling Nevills's redshirt is a consideration, Sanderson replied with a firm stare, "Cassar's eating a lot right now."

One member of the crowd, Lyle Christiansen of wrestling entertainment outfit Blo Rasslin, was incredulous and seemed especially put out by the answer.

"But Coach," he lamented, "Cassar has an extensive injury history that has already caused him to miss two full seasons. Aren't you concerned? Shouldn't you get someone like Seth Nevills ready as soon as possible?"

Sanderson turned his icy stare to Christiansen, "What, do you have a plan?" The room cleared.

Penn State wrestling is next in action on January 10th when the Nittany Lions take on the Illinois Fighiting Illini
at Rec Hall, 7:00 PM ET.

Are you talking about one of your 10 slimeball accounts over there?
No, I'm talking about you and the others that give me reason to go over there and create account after account. You guys accuse parents (yes...this uncludes wives) for taking payoffs to send their boys to PSU. You then accuse their sons of using steroids once they come here. Do you need me to continue Turk?

You don't fool me Turk....I know better because I pay attention. You wanna know the difference between there and here? If you say you're offended by that comment about your wife, we have plenty of people here that would put a stop to it and quickly. We self police here. Over there its condoned by pretty much everyone. Don't get me wrong, I notice you open your mouth here and there like you are some sort of standup guy but I know better. Like I said, I pay attention...I see things you "like"...I read some of your comments..

I was actually shocked the comment offended you considering he couldn't pick your wife out of a lineup if his life depended on it. He has no idea who your wife is...it was a jab. But if you were truly offended and said as much then it wouldn't continue. It just wouldn't.

Foolish comments. I've said no such things. Who is "you guys"? Everyone over there?

I got about 1/3 of the way through this -- without looking at who wrote it -- before I started saying, huh? Then I scrolled back and saw your handle. Very well done -- again!

Lol. This one actually fooled me more than most of the others. I paused at the word Raptor ..... "huh..Cael calls him Raptor now too?" Immediately realized I'm an idiot.

This comes in the category of wild guesses. If one of our room guys goes on Jan 10th Antny will be back, if we see Seth then that would indicate the opposite. No clue as to Kerk's eligibility status for this year, but it does look like he is enrolled - http://www.work.psu.edu/cgi-bin/ldap/ldap_query.cgi

You really need to go over to HR and see what a few are doing with this. Lol

Then over on theMat

77again: "I am a big fan of Beard, but losing two matches in the Scuffle solely because he ran out of gas really hurts. I hope that he is ill or something else, and this is not indicative of future 3rd period efforts."

The reply...

Ionel: "Let's wait and see if he eats after the tourney. If he is eating he is fine."

Lol

I'm assuming the headline-less version of the article must be coming from the NJ site -- both posts on HR and The Mat lack the headline and photo. I'll owe a beer to whomever identifies the NJ outlet.

I wish my Morgan McIntosh to HWT article from years ago had gotten this much play.

Have to admit I'm having a chuckle over this. I guess that's one reason why folks like me always insist on crediting a source when posting something that isn't yours. ;)
Where's the original post I need my memory refreshed lol. No seriously where is it
