Good to see Indiana destroyed, stop them from gaining any momentum going into next year. After their showing against Notre Dame, they are being panned nationally. This past year Indiana was a manufactured team, believe they had 30 transfers, that is not sustainable. They had one year with a lucky schedule and got stomped in both games against rated teams. Even the high priced coach is being called out. Back to the pack Indiana.

I NEVER root for the Evil Empire people know as ND.

you're right. It wasn't sustainable. But who cares? They were never going to be a threat to PSU. And it would have been fun to see the Irish thumped.

A few things.

1. Indiana's coach is the opposite of "high priced coach". While he got a generous contract recently, a big mistake by the school, he was being paid less than half of Franklin and got his team to the playoff.

2. I doubt anyone is 'panning' Indiana nationally except for SEC shills. They didn't play anyone, but neither did half of the teams in the tournament. Look at the Tennessee OSU result. Who played them better?

3. Which team this season ISN'T a manufactured team? They all are.

Never root for ND, they have all of the media on their side before 1 game is played. They will be top 10 every year without ever playing a game just because they are ND.

I was rooting for Indiana until their head coach gave up on his own team and punted the ball away instead of going for it, perplexing the announcers and the rest of the country.

Respectfully, I think what Cignetti did in year 1, coming from JMU, is pretty amazing. He brought a bunch of Sun Belt players into the P4 and won....not much different than how Rhoades transitioned from VCU to PSU and everyone here was pretty happy.

We'll see how this plays out, but 3rd in the B2G and a CFP appearance in year 1 is a hell of a momentum builder for Cignetti and IU.

will it be similar to the boost that TCU got from being in the title game a couple years ago?

My only problem with Cignetti is his arrogance and self-promotion despite not being competitive in either of the two teams with a pulse IU played this year. When Cignetti was interviewed in Saban’s presence and mentioned how he tried to incorporate as much of the things he learned as an assistant coach under Saban years ago, Saban said one thing you didn’t learn from me is to talk as much shit as you do.

I can understand your point. But a coach talking up his team is quite normal.

He needed to talk his team into a playoff slot and he did successfully.

Speaking of other bowl games, I just saw a pit is playing Toledo on December 26. Toledo? Seriously?

Why would you want ND over Indiana? That is like rooting for Goliath over David. ND is the epitome of arrogance and entitlement. Not a Georgia fan but would like to see the Dawgs win. Cignetti is a good coach. He will turn Indiana into a solid program, not elite but good.

Time will tell. JMU's rose from FCS to FBS was pretty amazing and Year 1 at IU was far above expectations.
It was smoke and mirrors though. I think he can consistently win 7 or 8 games with 9 on occasion which is amazing for Indiana but they're not going to see the playoff in this format very often if ever again
