and they showed a clip of someone holding up the Big Ten championship football trophy with confetti falling down. It was a close up showing just arms/hands and the trophy. Last time I checked, Michigan hasn't won even a share of the Big Ten title since 2004 and I don't know whether they even had the current football shaped trophy back then. Isn't this a little disingenuous? Are they saying that they have won this trophy or just saying that they are a contender?

Also, my wife asked my why they were "maize" and blue... I told her that these were their official school colors, and she said that the non-blue color wasn't maize, it was yellow. She's a UVA grad, so she doesn't have any Big ten rivalry bias.... Yellow is a horrible color choice for pants!

Nike copyrighted the color Maize for sports uniform usage.
While Michigan was with Adidas, the "maize" was more like highlighter yellow.

This is the latest:

Nike has tweaked the maize color that will be featured on many Michigan products, which will hearken back to one of the football program’s most successful eras. Nike is calling the color “Amarillo,” which means “yellow” in Spanish. The color, technically, is PMS 7406.

“There’s only one school using that particular shade of yellow, and that’s Michigan,” Hirth said. “The best way to think of it is that it’s pretty close to the yellow you would have seen Charles (Woodson) and Desmond (Howard) win their Heisman trophies in.”

Well, that's one huge 'Who gives a shit.'

What's funny is there are still so many people out there that think the Big is Ohio State and Michigan and then everyone else. I'll bet most people would never guess that Michigan hasn't won a title since 2004 and that MSU, Wisconsin and Penn State all have multiple championships since 2004. I blame the Big 10 first for that and then the rest of the sports media.
