Yup. I can't blame the fans. This is a proud fan base that has dealt with a lot. We deserve better than that red zone performance and punk penalties.
Treating our coach like that is really embarrassing !!! And in front of all those recruits, good grief. Could have hurt the future teams.

James is paid big money to figure this stuff out. That doesn't give these fake tough guys who couldn't survive a single tackle without shitting themselves free license to behave like buffoons, though.

Then he should leave his kids in the stands or luxury box. And he's been trying to figure the same thing out for his entire career, save for a fluke blocked punt, and inexplicably got a raise without finding the solution. Maybe this just isn't for him? There's always the MAC!
I have lowered my expectations for civilization, so this doesn’t surprise me at all. I just got done coaching U-10 fall soccer, and you would’ve thought it was Copa America. I couldn’t believe that amount of pressure the kids felt from those lovely family members. I kept telling my kids forget about that noise in the air, just have fun and play the game. Some of those kids would become a basket case, once they started hearing those supportive family members yelling. It’s a vicious cycle. I was disappointed yesterday also, but it’s just a football game.
Many students wore Halloween costumes all weekend. Only the male fashionistas on this board who worry about what color they get to wear, at what time, and against what opponent, would ask a question like this.
PSU has the 2nd best attendance in the country. I don't think it ever slipped below 5th during the sanction years. The fans deserve better.
O$U fans boo Ryan Day when he handed over his lunch $ to Michigan…does not seem to have affected them.
I respectfully disagree. Ohio State’s talent had nothing to do with Kotelnicki’s bonehead 3 plays up the middle with the game on the line. This was a coaching disaster on the offensive side of the ball.
The money they spend and the money he makes sort of gives them that right. It might not be classy though.
Wrong coach but you are correct they were bonehead calls. Having watched a lot of Kansas games last year, it would be totally against AKs nature to run three plays up the middle like that.
Yep. Don’t blame their angst, but being entitled, petulant children certainly won’t entice a recruit to come here. It will effectively do the opposite
Unfortunately I agree. The money these coaches and players want and expect, they no longer get treated like college students. Perform based on your expectations and compensation or expect to be criticized.
The days of coaches being paid like professors, or even admins is long gone. As is athletes living with and being somewhat like regular students.
They got what they wanted and turned college football into a professional sport, so you’re going to have pro sport fan behavior.
One thing I didn't like was several PSU players laughing it up with the OSU players. I commend and expect good sportsmanship but the players shouldn't be happy after a loss like that. Shake hands and get to the locker room. Some of it was Fleming and I realize he played with those kids. I also saw Wallace, Harris, and I believe Winston (in sweats) having far too much fun.
This is probably an unpopular opinion but we sure didn't act like that in my athletic days.
I think you see more of that these days because kids get more exposure to each other via 7-on-7 camps, recruiting events, etc. I don't see an issue with it. OSU has several PA kids, we have some OH kids, and we both recruit Maryland, Virginia, etc. There's a lot of familiarity between these two rosters.
