5-7 with losses to Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Maryland,Purdue, Auburn, and one other.

Next year could be really fun. But that will mean the staff letting go of the stay-with-who-brung-you-to-the-dance mantra no matter how ugly they turn out to be...starting with QB.

Assuming Clifford is the starter and stays healthy the whole time:
@Purdue - W
Ohio - W
@Auburn - ?
Central Michigan - W
Northwestern - W
@Michigan - ?
Minnesota - W
Ohio State - L
@Indiana - W
Maryland - W
@Rutgers - W
Michigan State - ?

8-4.

If Clifford is not the starter or cannot stay healthy for much of the season, then I have no idea and anything from 5-7 to 8-4 would be in play. I guess the question would be do you take your lumps with Drew and the 2022 schedule or do you kick the can down the road and hope in 2023 he can put it all together after sitting for a year?

2023 Schedule:
West Virginia
Delaware
@Illinois
@Northwestern
Indiana
@Michigan State
@Ohio State
Iowa
Michigan
Umass
Rutgers
@Maryland

You’ve gotta love the big ten. 4 weeks, back to back, of at Michigan St, at Ohio State, Iowa, and Michigan with no off weeks in between. 🙄

when was the last time osu or Michigan had a similar stretch leading up to the game?

We don't play Iowa next season. The schedule was not that way this year either. Remember we had 2 weeks off to get ready for Illinois. Which we did quite well.

It's not the way the schedule is laid out that is our problem. No matter what even if we have the perfect cadence of a schedule our absolute ceiling next year is 9 wins and realistically we get to 7-8 wins.
