WAY too early Big 10 Seed Projections

So I did this last year and found it interesting to track throughout the year and thought I would do the same.

Just as some background, I base mine primarily off of head-to-head matchups against fellow Big 10 starters at that same weight. I also take out MFF wins since it doesn't count against the defaulting wrestler.

Since there are not a ton of head-to-head Big 10 matchups in the results yet, I basically took who I felt was each team's starter and sorted them by today's wrestlestat rankings. I then adjusted based off of results that we do know. The only weight class that got really out of whack in my opinion was 149 with Thomas of NW losing his first round match at Midlands at the 4 but who know, maybe he was overseeded? Time will tell.

Also, these are my guesses as to who the starters will be. If you know for sure that some are incorrect, please feel free to let me know. I know a couple teams have undecided weights. The one I am most curious about is Michael Carr has not wrestled yet for Illinois.

Wrestlestat has Lee ranked #1 this week. I try to take my personal opinions out of this as much as possible and just see what the numbers say. Same with Joseph and Marinelli at 165 (I only really looked at this year for the time being.)

That is why Rasheed is #2 this week at 197. I don't think he would be #2 if they seeded today but he is #2 in wrestlestat behind Moore and obviously hasn't wrestled yet and so he doesn't have any losses to anybody below him who he lost to.

If this has changed let me know but I think Micic, Myles Amine, Massa, and Kanen Storr were all taking Olympic redshirts for Michigan

Contrary to popular belief, the conference office gives absolutely no guidance as far as what criteria should be used. Coaches are basically told: "Here are the wrestlers, rank them either 1-8 or 1-14, depending on the weight, you need to have it in to the conference office by H-Hour on D-Day."
