What position does Mathews project to at the next level......did not realize that he is 6' 4" and watching his senior highlights he does not seem to be a burner as I would have thought, but real strong runner and a very tough hitter. perhaps strong safety, or with 15-20 lbs. W side LB?? Perhaps WR another big body guy should really help in the red zone.

If he does select you guys today, just realize you are getting a special football player and person. Those kids from Clairton are a different breed, tough hardnosed kids. I have no doubt he'll surprise you in his time there. It will help you rebuild a bridge there but this is a kid who will give you everything he's got anytime he steps on the field.. a definite underrated pickup... great pickup for you guys... and as much as I wanted him at Pitt anytime a kid from there can get a d1 offer to get out of the area, you have to root for him. Excellent pickup for you
Thank you. I think most Penn State fans realize this kid will bring it all. Tough kid from a tough area and I expect he brings that toughness with him. Great film by the way, not shy at all of big hits.
From what I understand, his only weakness is that lack of speed. That's why they are calling him an "athlete", not sure where to put him. I think his future success is dependent on a weight gain and playing a "bigger" position. Happy to have him, sometimes, you have to take a shot at kids who are not perfect prospects.
