Average
Seems like a good week to start the Average. A reminder that a wrestler must appear in half of the rankings to appear in the Average. Morelli appears in 4 of the 7, so he appears at 174. Shakur appears in 3 of the 7, so he does not appear at 174. Also, as the computer generated rankings (so far just WrestleStat) often are more inaccurate (or whatever you'd like to call it) at the beginning of the season, I'll indicate the Average without and with the computer generated rankings. Interestingly, the two averages are not all that different at this point.
Without Computer Generated Included
125: Suriano - 9th
133: Cortez - 13th
141: Gulibon - 17th
149: Zain - 1st
157: Nolf - 1st
165: Joseph - 10th
174: Morelli - 12th
184: Nickal - 3rd
197: Cutch - 7th
285: Nevills - 7th
Team: 3rd
With Computer Generated Included

For those wondering, the Dual Impact Index presented by the National Collegiate Open will debut next week.

Thanks. I *was* wondering.

Also, I think you should consider a longer name. Something like:
The Dual Impact Index presented by the National Collegiate Open, organized by the Wrestle Pirate of Seton Hall, endorsed by the Generic Gray Sweatpants Manufacturing Association and distributed with care by the Information Superhighway.

Tom,
I have some info for you. What's the best way to contact you?

I sent you a PM. Look on the right side of the top bar of this site. There should be an envelope icon. To the right of it, or on the right below it, there should be a red block with a 1 in it, indicating that you have a PM. Open that, key in a reply (looks like you're making a post on the board), and then select the Post Reply button. While it looks similar to making a post, the contents of my message and the contents of your reply will only be visible to the 2 of us.

Any problems responding, get back to me in this thread.

WrestleStat is updated, along with a new "Hodge Watch" page and widget, which I'm sure you guys will like seeing the leaders there.

All have been posted except AWN's rankings. I'll keep checking for htem, and will post them when they appear.

So expectation is that Suriano moves up into the Top 4 eventually.

Cortez and Joseph climb some into single digits whether that is 2 or 9 is still up in the air.

174 & Nevills up a little bit.

Zain up some (he deserves to be like 0.5 as #1 doesn't seem to be enough).

Just curious, Andegre - Cox at 4th with two decisions so far (5-0 and 2-0)- what are your metrics for this? Does this factor in previous seasons results?

No, just current seasons results. It uses their rating (NOT ranking), dual strength, opponent strength, and win percentage (this isn't noted on the page, I'll get that updated soon)

To expand on your question, he's that high because his rating is already really high.

Something went whacko (technical term), and lost your PM...

Hmm, I don't think those things disappear. Then again, I've never tested that beyond what I can see, which may be different.

Click on the envelope, and see if the conversation/PM is still there. If not, let me know.

It's not there. But an old conversation from 2015 (someone else) still is. Gremlins?

Fully updated. Amateur Wrestling News finally posted their 11/29 Rankings. Also, I generated the Average ranking for the 1st time this season.

Regarding the with/without computer generated rankings...Suriano is expected since this is still his first season of college wrestling (and not enough matches to get to his "equilibrium" ranking. But the Nevills thing was VERY interesting. Was WrestleStat the only computer ranking used for these averages? If you use WrestleStat in the averages, it should have pulled Nevills down/worse because WrestleStat has him #34...

WrestleStat was the only computer generated ranking used. The Dual Impact Index pb The National Collegiate Open has not yet been posted this season.

As for Nevills, WrestleState was used in the with computer generated rankings average. I was surprised this average wasn't higher for Nick, but if you think a bit about it, it really isn't that much of a factor (1 number out of 7, with 6 of them pretty close). Of the non-computer generated rankings, the highest for Suriano is 11th. WrestleStat has him at 29. And yet, when WrestleStat is included the average only moves from 9 to 11. With Nevills, the highest non-computer generated ranking is 8, whereas WrestleStat has him at 34. Yet the average only moves from 7 to 11 when the WrestleStat ranking is included in the average.

In the "Without Computer Generated Rankings" section you have him 7th, but in the "WITH Computer Generated Rankings", he moves to #3. Judging by your reply, sounds like he actually moved to #11, so sounds like just a typo.

Thanks!
