Welcome Seth Nevills

I used to think you were a decent guy until I saw your latest post over on the Iowa board ... really you are stooping this low now?

NewHow is your new president at Penn State coming along?
He gonna cover up shit like the one before him?
Just think it is such a great place and had such sick guys running it.
So I know it has nothing to do with the wrestling however; if something
does come up gonna cover it again? JoPa and them have no one to
blame for losing his great accomplishments. Be sad if something
did come about the great Cael..I'm not pissing and whining just saying
like it is.

mini hawk eye...we met in Demoines a few years ago ...stayed at same hotel ...enjoyed talking to you and thot you were a good guy. I suspect your response here was triggered by a reaction to a previous post by drunkej01 however your post is so outta whack and inaccurate. You obviously have looked no further than than initial media reporting and then 'built' your knowledge base to indict Penn State and Joe Paterno. If you had any ability to think rationally on this topic you would discover the long period of time this was occurring thru Sandusky's direct contact with The Second Mike charity for disadvantaged youth that Sandusky started, the previous investigations by state and local authorities that could did find wrong doing (remember these are trained professionals), the lack of reporting by mandated local and state agencies when information was relayed to them ..but somehow Penn State and Joe became the epicenter of the story even though no proven rapes occurred on campus. I won't even began to go into the ill feeling of certain Board members plus the then governor of Pa Tom Corbett had towards Joe and how they used their positions to influence this case without any due process. Minihawkeye ... you really would be better served to reevaluate your opinion ....or post it on HR ....not here

In times like these... we learn to live AGAIN. Pre Cael days... I wasn't living. Dunke... I've learned to live again. :D

Yes, and seeing Hawkeyes attempt to latch onto the scandal is just further confirmation they've given up the fight vs Cael. TnT can't trade punches with Cael. Hell, they can't even put any combo together amalone, the parade of PSU champs will continue for a long, long time!

Non PSU fans know they can send many PSU fans into a tizzy by mentioning the scandal.
As long as they take the bait and react as expected, the scandal card will be played by our foes.
I believe ignoring those comments will work much better.

Will someone please provide a quick list of Penn State's recruits, who are not yet enrolled. (Yes a list is posted at the top of the page)

However, please add their overall National P4P ranking, and the source or sources of those ranking.

As a bonus if you are so willing -
Please list their National Rank at their HS weight.

Finally, any opinions on their expected weight or weight range as a PSU wrestler would be appreciated.
Thanks

It's essentially a roster of all Top 10 PFP kids ranked #1 or #2 at their respective weights(minus Joe Lee who is #8 at 152-Intermat) with almost every weight class covered for the next 5 years now, I expect us to be good

Thanks jschrantz. At one time there was easy access to the top 10+ overall rankings by class. Links to lists like that would also be fine.

Would just like to see where our guys stack up on those lists at this time, if someone has the rankings handy. Thanks again.

Not knocking Seth at all (super excited about him!) but he is the 4th maybe 5th highest rated recruit in THIS CLASS but would be the 4th or 5th highest rated recruit for Iowa in a DECADE....of course they are going to resort to those type of attacks at this point as its all they have. DT and Ed's bonus points weren't a fluke, it appears they were just the start of a trend at PSU. Be thankful we have Cael and crew at the helm!

It's a shame that a great thread on PSU picking up an AWESOME recruit is littered now with garbage. Can we take all that BS somewhere else?

Congrats Seth! We are all hugely excited to get you in the room and look forward to 6 more years of a Nevills at 285.
I don't know why we give a sh**t about what some Hawkeyes fan has to say about anything. We are f**king PSU the greatest wrestling team on the planet, one of the greatest sports teams ever. We are on an amazing recruiting roll after an amazing historic season heading into a freestyle season that is shaping up to be epic. Life is very good!

Josh Lowe tweeted Ped State stuff some time ago. He's a smarmy anOSU fan. And he's not as good at his job as the Flo guys.
Really? Have no idea how I missed that one. Did he ever apologize for that or doesn't Intermat really care what he says? I'm surprised he still has a job.

Hall was overall #1 and #1 at 170 and Suriano was overall #2 and #1 at 126.

Good stuff Used2BEerie.
Do you have the rank at their weights for Lee, Manville and Berge?
I can look up this classes numbers, unless you have their rank at weight too.

Berge is #1 at 160, Lee was # 1 at 138 but was dropped from the rankings because he didn't wrestle HS after he beat Sasso at WNO. I think Manville was #1 at 152. I'm going from memory so I could be wrong.

+1

If we could look back at this thread 3 or 4 years from now, we would wonder why we even bothered. The Hawks are already behind the OSUs in the pecking order, ASU, ISU, Mich and a few others will soon be nipping at their heals.

Even the Ped State thing doesn't bother me that much. It's a card desperate people play when they have no other way to fight back. In the end it says more about that person than it does about us.

If Berge is ranked #1 at 160, then why do we have him plugged in at 149 in our pinned spreadsheet? Just trying to sort this out a bit.

Where was Vincenzo Joseph ranked in 2016 at his weight and nationally? We can add him to the list.

Berge also wrestled at 152 this year when his team needed him to. IIRC he wrestled at 152 for the team duals. He said in interviews after his commitment that he plans on wrestling 149.

If you watch a number of the videos where the PSU wrestler was on the mat at nationals, you can see Seth as one of our big cheerleaders in the stands. He went crazy when Cenzo pinned IMar. It made me wonder at the time, given all his enthusiasm, why he hadn't committed to Penn State. Question answered. Welcome Seth!

Can you imagine what that was like for a young man thinking about what atmosphere he'd like to spend four or five years in.

Top 6 Unsigned Recruits At FloNationals

Ryan Holmes

With college recruiting season underway, there are still plenty of talented guys who have yet to make their college decisions. This weekend at FloNationals there will be some highly sought-after recruits in the mix that any coach would be happy to get their hands on next year.

Here are the top five unsigned recruits who will be competing at FloNationals.

Sammy Sasso (145)
The funky PA State champ recently registered for the 145 pound bracket. He is defending his title from a year ago where he knocked off super stud Kanen Storr. He has won Super 32, Fargo and Ironman.

Sasso's Numbers

Weight Ranking: 2

Big Board Ranking: 6

Seth Nevills (285)
While there have been a number of people assuming that Nevills will end up at Penn State with his brother, Nick Nevills, a 2017 NCAA All-American, the second-ranked big man has yet to make up his mind. Surely, Nevills, a three-time undefeated California state champion, has his pick of the litter, so whoever lands him will be in good shape.

Nevills' Numbers
Weight Ranking:
2

Big Board Ranking: 10

Trent Hidlay (160)
Hidlay's Numbers
Weight Ranking:
3

Big Board Ranking: 16

Gavin Hoffman (195)
This two-time Pennsylvania state champ is a bit of a question mark, even though his older brother, Garrett, is at Bucknell. Gavin is just a solid all-around performer. He dabbled a bit with going up to 220 at Fargo, where he was a runner-up to Cohlton Schultz, but ultimately came back down to 195 because he felt slow with the extra weight. Needless to say, 195 suits Hoffman very well, so someone will be getting a pretty agile 197.

Hoffman's Numbers
Weight Ranking:
5

Big Board Ranking: 12

Mason Parris (220)
Parris' Numbers
Weight Ranking:
5

Big Board Ranking: 23

Jacori Teemer (132)
Teemer's Numbers
Weight Ranking:
9

Big Board Ranking: 32

Can some of you guys who've seen a decent amount of Seth matches comment on the differences in style between the two brothers? Wish Coach Tirapelle were still around here posting , maybe he'll drive by ...

At the same age, Seth looks to be bigger, stronger, more physically developed and has a tad more "edge" to him than Nick did to my eyes. Haven't seen a ton of his matches, but that's my quick take.
