Don’t follow wrestling as much or know nearly as much as most of you guys but it seems tOSU has fallen off some from the trajectory they were on a few years ago. Thought they were really going to challenge Penn State and Iowa for the top spot each year especially with the new facility etc.

Down year for them. Redshirting some good kids and have an excellent recruiting class coming in. They’ll be fine and probably our biggest test the next few years

They had a couple key guys out yesterday. They’re not where they had been a few years ago, but they’ve recruited well and will be back.

Even with Kharchla and Romero back, if Starocci goes for PSU, they still only score 6 or 7 points. Swap the points from 174 for 165.

Now, does Romero get decked? Probably not. But he still takes an L.

They won the recent recruiting national championships with #1, 2 and 3 in the class.

Meanwhile, we have some bum named Haines coming in.

The current front page of 11 Warriors is instructive. A lot of recruiting info, but not even a preview post of last nights dual - let alone a recap.

LOL, they still have Orndorff's transfer on their headline banner, along with their win over Maryland.

You mean their "First B1G shutout since 1979." As if Maryland is really in the B1G, lol. That was also last year's score/dual.

I think you just have to accept that with 9.9 scholarships and a lot of parity between teams that aren't the present version of the Nittany Lions or the 1980s version of the Iowa Hawkeyes, that it's not that uncommon for a team to sniff lofty air for a year or two and then to fall on "hard times" for a few years. Like most have pointed out, tOSU has recruited well and they have some upcoming studs, so they MAY challenge over the coming years. They could just as easily have a critical injury or a transfer or two and remain crummy. ;)

I like for the Buck and Hawk eyes to both be good with high expectations. Penn State winning is always fun. If the Lions winning leaves the Bucks and Hawks feeling disappointment to their cores, that's even better.

Actually, tOSU had a run of 5, 6, 6, 1, 3, 2, 2, 2 from 2012 to 2019 inclusive. That's pretty good and a run EVERY Penn State fan would have taken not long ago. We are spoiled. Look for Ohio State to return to near the top with the way they are recruiting. Penn State won't give an inch, so look for some great duals in the future.

Their top recruit just got beat by a high schooler though. :)

I kid… I kid…
