For me it was Roger the Rockets 100+ yard TD run vs overwhelming #1 Syracuse in 1959, when The Beav was still at the other end of campus, near Rec Hall. We were trailing BIG. The Orangemen were dominating. Lucas couldn't get much going against an awesome D.. Joe puts in a kid to return a kick-off, after Syracuse had scored what looked like the nail in the coffin TD.
And ........BOOM...........unknown Roger Kauffman, with blinding speed takes it allll the wayyyyy. I must have helped 3-4 students climb down off my back. What a celebration. And it set the stage for an almost-miracle comeback. We lost, 20-18, but what a game! Against one of the all-time best college FB teams.
