He took away Pat F's TD two years ago and I just knew there was no way he'd take away the Iowa TD which was much more dubious. Apparently slapping the pylon with your off hand is now worth six points.
He was just an insurance policy if it was close at the end.O’Neill was a complete a non-factor this game. That’s the way it should be.
replay look like the Iowa wr grabbed the Dback's face maskgrabbing the helmet
Indisputable evidence that the Big10 works against PSU. Could the call (with replay) have been more obvious? I say again, when is enough, enough with this clown conference? He took away Pat F's TD two years ago and I just knew there was no way he'd take away the Iowa TD which was much more dubious. The O’Neil assignment is no coincidence. How many times does it have to happen before people wake up and smell the coffee?Don't think the officiating determined the game, but still pretty poor. No way Iowas first TD was legit though maybe they just would have scored a play or two later. More pivotal was the PI penalty preceding that. Seemed like there was offensive interference as well (grabbing the helmet). No PI and Iowa likely doesn't score.
Oh, and the O'Neill sighting did mentally prepare me for the worst...
Did they need a perfect shot? C'mon. How hard is it to tell that if your right hand is extended over your head, and a ball is tucked under your left armpit, that the ball could not possibly have been at the same line as the fingers on the right hand. You don't have to be genius to understand that is physically impossible. Yes, replay often does rely upon stitching together views from several cameras to try to determine the correct call. Here they didn't even need to do that. It was as obvious as day that the ball could not possibly have crossed the plane of the goal given that the extended right arm reach forward to tap the pylon. The only problem with that one was the replay. They didn't have a really good shot. I mean, it seems obvious that if the ball is in your outside hand and you touch the pylon with your inside hand that the ball did not cross the plane. But the angles they had weren't great. I think ruling that the TD stands was the right call given the replays.
Pat F.'s stolen TD in 2019? Now that's a different story. Pure, unadulterated corruption on that one.

That was as obvious of a call that I have seen in decades of watching football. Not even close to a TD. Just another in a very, very long list of ONeil and the Big10 putting the screws to us…they like to test how blatant it is to see if anyone calls them on it. So far, no one has had the guts.Well, I guess we can agree to disagree. I gripe when they make up replay rules as they go to our detriment, i.e., Pat F.'s stolen TD vs. Iowa in 2019 when it was ruled a TD on the field, video confirmed that call was correct, yet they reversed the call. I'm not about to call for them to make up rules when it's to our benefit. Yes, the laws of physics demand that the ball did not break the plane of the goal. But the laws of replay say the call on the field stands unless there is incontrovertible video evidence to overturn the call. And to me, there was not incontrovertible evidence because they didn't have a good replay angle.

And btw, we want our bowl $ back.
not likely sure, a penalty on 1 inch line backs them up 5 or 10 yards, hold them to a fg save 4 points, win 20-19. that's why they play the game on he field on Saturday not on a message board on SundayAs if it would have changed the entire outcome if Iowa had 1st and goal from the one-inch line instead of a TD. Give me a break

Well, it should have been around the 1. Probably not a difference-maker. But ever here of false starts? Fumbled snaps? It does happen. As if it would have changed the entire outcome if Iowa had 1st and goal from the one-inch line instead of a TD. Give me a break
