there was a question in another thread that asked “who was going to have the pin or throw or major that wins this matchup?” There was none of that in my opinion. I think that was the most impressive thing about the dual. In other duals in Carver, there would have been one or two breakout performances that you could have pointed to to say that was pivotal to the win. In this particular case there was no super impressive performance … just a bunch of solid performances which were expected. We were good enough to beat the number two team in the nation with good solid performances and nothing spectacular. That’s good news.

Thats a solid analysis. Just winning in Carver is always a good thing. It doesn't have to be Bo Nickal flashy.

True, but the end of Dean’s match was awesome and may have saved the match. If Kerk hadn’t rolled out of those trips he could have been pinned. And if Warner had won, Iowa could have won. So Dean’s win was critical, and for me, the highlight of the match.

Zierath............

If you are gonna call me out, at least spell it right.

and, how am I an asshat for wanting civil discussion during the week of the biggest meet all year?

Mike
Good Luck Mike!

Civil discussion? Sounds great. Why don’t you rein in the brigade of asshats on your board?

Can’t even civilly discuss Desanto grabbing a leg and stalling!

Yep I asked the question and my opinion was the bow and arrow but dean. Don't win anything but it saved us the match lol

Definitely Max. Played out exactly as I predicted prior to match, but still impressive how he took care of business. Probably majors him with a non-B1G Ref, especially not F'ing Rivera.

Cass wrestled the best match, I hate but have to say.

Dean’s B&A was most impressive thing I saw on PSU side. I was worried he couldn’t do it against top wrestlers; I didn’t see it against Brucki, Bulsak or Caffey. But that was last year’s 4th place finisher he turned late to win the dual.

DH getting the late turn for bonus was sweet too. I know he maybe should get bonus there, but he did and he kept working till he did.

There was a lot of guts shown but I don't know any match where you'd say it was very impressive, which is insane. I'm looking at it through Cael's lense.

-Drew majored an overmatched opponent but needed the buzzer for it. One takedown.
-RBY's timidness was documented.
-Nick scored off of Eierman's mistakes mostly and almost blew it.
-Aaron seemed content after 2
-Max's finish was so dominating but I think Cael wants Max to start those turns in the third for majors, not comeback wins.

I'm going to vote Carter. His match was a marathon and literally adrenaline on and off. Getting in on Kemerer and not finishing has to be frustrating. The crowd was the worst at this point. The way he maintained poised through it all was unbelievable. Zain 2017 like almost. He truly is an assassin (that emoji he posted, he backed up)

Who da best?
Mad Max is an ICE COLD KILLA!! He has no fear! He knows he has the gas tank to dominate the 3rd period against anyone. Now with the 'Bad Driving Situation" in Stillwater out for a while, Max has a nice shot to go all the way this year!

Just drop Berge down to 157! Beau stop wrestling not to lose! Go out like a madman first period and let your offense roll often and early! You have Nothing to LOSE!!!

I thought Hildebrandt working for a major was huge, both for the dual and him. The extra point didn't ultimately matter but at the time it felt like a big deal.
Agreed. Master rider with that frame once he gets the boots in, it is gonna be a nasty ride! GREAT pickup and nice well-mannered kid. Does he have another year of eligibility back? Love to have him for another year!

This is his fifth and last year of eligibility. It is Howard's spot next year. I love that kid.
