Why "Social Media" is great....

I could watch that over and over, love the crowd noise!

The NCAA National Championship Tournament didn't start until 1929, but PSU recognizes the 1921 and 1925 teams as National Champions (the 1921 team participated in a post-season invitational of Conference Champions and defeated Indiana [32-14] and Iowa State (Iowa Agricultural College at time before renaming) [28-18] and were declared National Chapions after event. The 1925 team was undefeated in duals and recognized by many as the best team in the Nation.). PSU recognizes the 1921 as a National Team Champion, but lists both NCAA Team Championships [10] as well as National Championship Teams [12].

Love Tom Brand's interviews. He is honest, passionate and respectful although sometime a backhanded compliment gets in there time to time. One thing he said when asked how do you evaluate year to year. He something like it stays the same year to year but with different recruits coming in. That could be why they are getting these results more often than not. They may need new young blood from outside the program for some different views of what others are doing.

Hawk fans are happy with Brands but certainly have their eye on Spencer taking over. I personally don’t see that helping much and think PSU will only come back down to earth with them when Cael hangs it up. I also think they are overestimating Spencer’s likeability from kids Spencer’s age and think he’s gonna be some great recruiter like Cael is. There’s a reason Iowa didn’t go off on some big recruiting frenzy when they got Spencer like Iowa fans predicted.

I tend to agree, a phenom wrestler does not a great coach make. I am not sure.
The few times I observed him he does not seem overly charismatic or have something to set him apart on the recruiting scene. No doubt he can help just about any young wrestler out there. I'm sure those that know him personally would tell me I am way off.

Comparing him to Cael in terms of notoriety is a bit over-the-top if you ask me. Cael is the GOAT NCAA wrestler of all time (only undefeated, 4-Time NCAA Champion in history), Olympic Gold Medalist, etc.... - Wheaties put him on their box for Pete's Sake, an honor reserved for athletes the like of MJ. Spencer Lee is no where near the league of Cael Sanderson in terms of notoriety or gravitational pull.
