Will our OL look like Mary and Susie again this year trying to block

Mary is ready to kick some ass.

I REALLY expect the OL to be much better. A year of experience, physical growth, strength and agility training, better footwork, send year with the "SAME" coaches, real depth to provide relief and rest, and a very favorable first half of year schedule. With ALL of that the WILL be substantially better !!!!!

FYI, OSU's "young" line last year had 7 of the 10 OL on their two deep in the "program" for at least 3 years. Young?? Really? We on the other hand had kids blocking men !!!! This year we have "young" MEN !!!!

I can't image the line will be as bad as last year. Returning 4 of 5 starters, same coaching staff, much better depth, and some big time transfers that should help. Sounds like Paris Palmer is adding some serious weight to his frame since he got on campus, sounds like he was around 300 lbs at the end of last week. With another month to go before the season starts I wouldn't be surprised to see him between 305 - 310 when the season starts.

someone.

It can't get any worse than 2014....

Pretty unfair title for this thread. These were all young inexperienced players save a few. OL is so tough because of how much chemistry it requires.

These kids were working their butts off but chemistry takes time.
No need for that title

The biggest and most important thing that this offense can do, to help out the offensive line this year, is to have a better running game. We need to find someone who can step in when Lynch isn't on the field, and give us an upgrade. We need to be able to run the football better.

I think you have it backwards. How can you have a good running game without a decent offensive line?

Now, if you want to, you can point to the fact that he didn't block well in pass protection, but that wasn't about running the ball.

Our OL was horrible with a very high NFL draft pick (D. Smith). What does that say about the other 4? I expect those 4 to improve but I'm not expecting miracles. Let's hope Reihner & Palmer can play

It says that the high draft pick played hurt and was not healthy enough to make the kind of pact on the overall performance of the OL that was expected and necessary for a good performing offense.

Not to mention that Dieffenbach, the other guy coming into 2014 with experience, played very little due to injuries.

Come on, Coach. You know the circumstances from last year.

No need to toss out a cheap shot.
no self respecting coach would ever post a headline like he did. So I doubt he's a Coach.

Slug, coaches tell it the way it is...RoyBoy is probably a little correct in
that I am to tough on them but "NOT ONCE" in any game last year did
I see any one of our OL hit some one and bury them...as in pan cake.

You can be wrong, but you can still hit someone hard even if it is wrong guy.

Coaches have to get tougher on expectations from the OL.

sorry no self respecting coach calls out kids and questions their manhood etc on a message board. Especially one with no skin in the game. You can say I hope our line blocks better, but to refer to them as Mary and Susie is just wrong, especially for kids that work their ass off. You can rip their coach all you want, but don't say things like this and expect to get away with it.
