I am expecting to see him on special teams somehow against Temple, and wouldn't be surprised to see him at RB at times by the time the B1G schedule begins. What are your thoughts?

Yes, I expect Lynch to start, and at least Allen and Barkley to play some. Even with the game still in question. I don't think Lynch or anyone else is the kind that you need to get 35 reps every game. They are all different and rotating them in now and them would be a nice change of pace. The percentage of Barkley's (and others') playing time will depend on their ability to pick up blitzes and protect Hack.

If he is that much better than the 3 redshirt freshman, then yes play him. If he is going to be used in mop up roll then redshirt him. And I really doubt that he is ready to start. Lynch is starter until he loses the position.

Count on it! Right now he is positioning himself to be the #2 RB behind Lynch. From what I hear and read, there isn't a better pure rusher than Barkley right now. His pass blocking needs polishing and once that happens, look out!

I feel very confident that he will get a significant amount of playing time. Scott or Allen are also likely to play. I could picture a scenario where Barkley with fresh legs lights up a tired Temple defense late in the game.

With the plethora of RB's we now have, and the ones we are counting on in a year, namely Miles Sanders, playing Barkley makes sense if he is as good as reported. In addition, to all the names mentioned, we are so fortunate to have a RB like Robinson who may red shirt!

I suspect Barkley will be mixed in here and there, maybe see 10% to 15% of the carries, along with the three (3) other RS FR RB's who I am guessing will have ~25% to 33% of the carries while Lynch will have the rest of the load up to 50%.

You won't see 5 running backs in any game that isn't a major blowout. Not saying a blowout can't happen. Seriously, Allen is more of a 3rd down back. He's used sparingly and Barkley gets at least 10 -15 carries. Lynch gets 20-25.

Yes. You have to shoot your big guns to zero them in and get familiar. Get them fine tuned for the B1G battles ahead.

Let's get him some playing experience anywhere he can contribute. If he is anywhere as good as he was in HS, this kid should not be sitting on the bench!

Would love to see him returning kickoffs ala Curt Warner as a freshman.
Back in my day, we didn't know the new players coming in. I remember Warner (a total unknown to me) returning a couple of kicks for touchdowns. I think that we had penalties so they were called back. He was the most special back that I ever saw in person.
