Cael Sanderson continued to roll on the recruiting trail with two top-5 verbal commits for the 2018 class on Saturday in Travis Wittlake Jr. and Roman Bravo-Young. They made their announcement together in a video posted on Flo Wrestling that you can view here.

Currently, Penn State has three top-10 ranked wrestlers committed for 2018, as they join No. 10 Joe Lee (2017 commit Nick Lee's brother)

TRAVIS WITTLAKE JR.
Wittlake is currently the 4th-ranked wrestler overall for the 2018 class by Flo Wrestling. He is competing at 170 pounds in high school, but he projects to be a 184-197 wrestler in his collegiate career. Wittlake is coming off of a very successful summer where he won USA Wrestling's Cadet Freestyle and Greco-Roman titles in Fargo.

ROMAN BRAVO-YOUNG
Bravo-Young is currently the 5th-ranked wrestler overall for the 2018 class by Flo Wrestling. Currently competing at 126 pounds, Bravo-Young projects to be a 133-141 wrestler in his collegiate career. He is also coming off of a successful summer where he won Cadet Freestyle gold in Fargo at 54 kg, where he beat Jordan Decatur 13-2 TF and 8-2 in the best of 3 finals.

Thank you for posting my article. :)

Didnt really think about it until recently, but I guess this means Teemer unlikely. Liked that kid. And if RBY is Teemer's slot, then the FIX IS IN. FULL COURT PRESS!

Is there anyone else PSU is going after in 2017 besides Fix and Berge?
Is Fix down to OSU & PSU? Berge- Iowa & PSU?

CP & Smalls discuss "How does Penn State do it ?" In FRL153

Is a good show. Appears they had some hints that RBY was trending to PSU for some time, though that had not gotten into the public sphere.

Apparently, they have had to cancel their planned Signing Day Show, due to the NCAA not being able to give a definitive ruling on whether Flo flying the guys in to announce their decisions was legal or not. They still plan to have live announcements for Fix, Berge, and Warner that week.

Also Nick Raimo 2019.
And we do have a PA kid at 197, Kellan Stout is just a redshirt freshman.

Joseph a freshman as well. But when he and Stout graduate, could be PA-less. Depends on 125... and other things could happen between now and then. Gardner could turn into a stud. Others could bust/get injured.

Thanks El-Jefe.

Just putting some rankings out for some Nittany Lions we may see in the future.

Updates from all posters are welcome.

Why do you see Gable S coming our way? I mean I hope you're right, but just curious if it's anything more than a hunch?

Mostly a hunch. I have heard from a pretty solid source that we (ISU) are not completely out of the running, and of course Minn. if part of the problem. The same source said "plus Cael is sniffing around- which is never good". I just think there is enough negatives at Minn. right now and with ISU still being just a few hours from home we could win this vs them. PSU with the lure of team titles, 2 big gold medalists in the room, 2 good buddies in Hall and RBY, too much to overcome.

What would this mean about Seth Nevills?

Thanks for the reply. Time will tell!

If Gable wants to come to Happy Valley, you can't pass that up.
Sure you can. Coaches need to project who's the better college HWT, not who has the best HS credentials.

Part of that is weight. Snacks is a heavy now. Steveson is moving up. How much more can he add? If he stays lighter (toward 230), he's no Snyder.

I see no reason he would be a poor fit in the room, on campus, etc., but if the coaches do, another good reason.

And that's before you get into the family relationship already established out west. Or scholarship demands.

IMO this is academic anyway. I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up his brother's teammate in Gooferville.

I tend to agree with this. If Seth Nevills wants to come to Happy Valley also, that's not a bad thing, either. Let them compete in the room. I think Gable is an unusual talent. I remember seeing him drub Jordan Wood at last year's WNO, seemingly without breaking a sweat. He's that good. I also think Penn State is the place where he'll reach his highest potential, so it would be a good choice for him.

3 years of Hall-Wittlake-Steveson-Snacks would be obscene.

Sure makes me hope Steveson to HWT this year is merely a personal challenge.

LOL - Now THAT is a fine basis for a new domination plan El-Jefe.

Would love to see Cael and crew pull off an upper level lineup like that.

That's old hat for Cael.

We already have been treated to the Magic Man, Hulk Hands, Easy Ed & Q fearsome foursome, all in a row.

Not quite for 3 yrs though. But close enough.
