World Wrestling Clubs Cup

Iran was on his knees when he pushed out, thought that challenge would be successful.

Snyder lost 3-1. Iranian did nothing for most of the match. Late in it he shot, and there was a long scramble. It appeared Snyder got the TD, but the ref ruled OOB before that. The US challenged, and lost the challenge.

Gwiaz wins with late TD and wins 3-2! I didn't see how the Iranian got his 2 points. I'm guessing it was a counter of Gwiaz's shot.

Gwiz with a TD with 35 seconds to go to win 3-2. TM wins dual.

Hadi made Gwiz look like a small man. Guy is ginormous.

No, Hadi with a nice knee pick early in first period.

I think the final score was 3-1 against Snyder.

Lost challenge added a point to the final score. It was 1-1. Pushout with 2 seconds to go made it 2-1. TM coaches challenged and lost.

So, with a few seconds left the score was 1-1, and I believe Snyder scored last, so he would have won without that "pushout". Sure didn't look like a push-out to me. If Snyder was ahead by criteria late, it's surprising that Snyder was doing all of the action until the final deep shot by the Iranian.

Snyder was definitely ahead on criteria. He was definitely pushed out but I thought (and I think challenge was based on) Tahan was on his knees.

All of our wins were second period comebacks, except for Kulchytskyy. Maybe we were in better condition than the Iranians.

Rahimi is very, very good, and Nico losing 5-2, although I'm sure disappointing to him, still there's no shame in that.

Really didn't think Gwiz had that takedown in him based on how that match was going and how he looked yesterday. Glad to be wrong, that's probably his biggest int'l win as well.

Snyder was ahead on criteria. The pushout was warranted, pretty clear. Tahan was on his knees, but Kyle raised up and then went back to his knees after he stepped out. 2 seconds to go, you are going to throw the brick and hope you didn't see it right, but the call was a good one. Kyle had a few opportunities, but just couldn't get to his offense.

Agree with tikk. No way I thought Gwiz was winning that match. But he darted in and got the ankle when the Iranian had all his weight on it. Pretty fortuitous.

Snyder was probably better than Tahan, and Hadi was probably better than Gwiz - so we'll call it even. Ringer pulling the match out of his butt with 5 seconds to go won the dual for them.

According to TM twitter, they won the whole d@mn thing. Thats pretty great news. Thanks for the PBP guys!

Snyder beat Tahan 6-3 at 2015 World Championships and 8-1 at the World Cup back in June. I'm surprised by this result.

Foley's article this week should tell us this tournament makes it pretty clear. The US won with Nico, Ringer, Snyder and Gwiz less than a year from wrestling in the NCAA championships. Time to dump folkstyle in the US and institute Foley's free-greco hybrid style. All in the interest of making the US competitive in international competitions!

Too much time in the nature nut wrestling room discussing the injustice done Logan Steiber this past summer.

I caught the end of Ringer and DT's match during lunch, today. Glad TMWC pulled it off.

On top of that, came home to the TMWC shirt that I ordered a while back, in the mailbox. It's like an omen or something.
