Football WR Norval Black no longer with team

Former JUCO transfer Norval Black is no longer with the team. He was a member of the Nittany Lions’ 2020 recruiting class.

It’s unclear if he’ll enter the transfer portal at this time. If Black does enter the transfer portal, he’ll have two years of eligibility remaining.

Black seemed to be a project from the day he signed, with Franklin implying as much on his signing day during a conversation with Black and his family. Fast, but he had a lot of work to do to develop a B10 body.

Good luck to the young man.

Franklin and his WR's coaches seemed to have done a good job with WR recruiting as far as potential goes over Franklin's tenure at PSU. But their hit rate for legit B10 WR's does not seem that great. Hope the current crop of young WR's in the 2021 and 2022 classes improve that hit rate. The offense really needs a couple of good route runners with sure hands to break out in 2022 to compliment Washington, KLS and the TE's.

I think a lot of these projects need to head to ODU with Rahne. Blacks type of speed at that level would make a difference.
