Fans that boo college kids. Especially long sustained boos and this that do it in front of a players parents. Not sure if all parents generally sit in the same section, but I think all schools should have extra security near their section.

These fans are really psychotic and are the type of fans that would threaten a kicker after a missed FG.

Don’t mean to sound holier than thou. I wine as much as the next fan during the heat of the moment but this is unacceptable.

but..but.. they paid for a ticket, so they are entitled to total satisfaction

Beaver Stadium (all stadiums!) are fans' 'safe spaces' !

Totally agree, it pisses me off and embarrasses me at the same time. Nice home field advantage, you get down and your fans totally turn on you, what a bunch of snowflakes.

They are booing the multi million dollar coaches, not the players. Is that acceptable or no booing allowed at all.

A. It's booing, it doesn't hurt anything. B. These are college men, typically 18-22. If we can send them off to die at war for the government's financial interests, they can't certainly handle some modest verbal criticism.
Should we boo them as they go off to war?

So if the coaches made less, no one would boo them? I’m not sure how much a coach makes should determine how disrespectfully he should be treated.

I will say that I have decided to sit away from the other parents of my daughter’s high school soccer team. They’re so embarrassing and condescending with their yelling at the refs- who are making the correct call the majority of the time- that I don’t want to associated with them.

Booing is one thing. Some of the nasty things people tweet at these young men goes beyond sanity. Those people should find a new weekend hobby.
Agree but I don't think the players pay much attention to that stuff.

Along this same vein, think about yourself as a fan and spectator of your kids in sports. It is often very difficult for a parent of an athlete not to be ultra critical of their kid/player and get on them about all they did wrong.

I think those who have played a competitive sport know the grind and the difficulty that is associated with the game. You have good days and bad. The other guy trains just as hard and he is trying as hard if not harder. You may be limited by injury or not able to mentally manage distraction or find effort on every play. Such is competition.

I try to keep in mind the difficulty and challenges these amateur althetes face and keep it all in perspective. I'm not talking participation trophy here, just that parents and fans need to get of a kids a#$ when they screw up. As I always tell my wife when we watch our kids compete and she has a private fit when they mess up.... it is not like they are trying to screw up. Look for how they respond the next play. It is the effort and hopefully the improved execution once you have screwed up that defines character and leads to confidence and improvement. Don't knock them down a peg and be ultra critical and certainly don't boo. They know when they have made errors, it is how they respond to that error that is important.

They're acting like it's a pro event and it seems things have gotten worse on the booing over the years.

I do remember attending a Pitt game in the early eighties when we played a poor game. There was a guy in the Senior section that threw his shoe at the team bench after a turnover. They came looking for him minutes later but he was long gone. Not sure if they ever found a "one shoe guy" exiting the stadium early.

Nah, they've been brainwashed all their lives to believe they're doing something noble. We should absolutely boo, vote out, prosecute those who so willingly send others to kill and die, though.
Does your statement include those who sent others to kill and die in order to stop Adolph Hitler? If so, what a conveniently safe world you live in.

If you are commenting on the booing at the end of the first half of the Buffalo game....I think the crowd was booing the whole effort by the entire team including coaches.
I thought they were booing the coaches. I doubt the fans were upset with the players.

I think you're overestimating the quality of the average CFB fan. Many seem to take everything personally, as though a team playing poorly is doing it on purpose, just to piss off that fan.

What part of that makes it a Penn State thing to do? What part of that makes it morally OK? Does it feel good to drink beer, have your family enjoy themselves yet tear down young guys who are trying their best? Fans like you ****ing suck. Go back to Philly/Jersey.

I can’t think of any one player that would deserve booing. Slade did fumble but I don’t think the boo birds came out then.

I can’t assume that fans were booing players. Now if fans were yelling at players that they heard that is so wrong.

When the team goes 3 and out constantly that is on the coaches. When multiple players are out of position on defense that is on the coaches. Fans need to think in context though and so many even on this
Board were crucifying the defense for stats when the defense only gave up 10 points but people on this Board as in the stadium were all caught up in meaningless stats.

Then the coaches made adjustments at halftime and they lit it up as i said they would at halftime.

So i would hope that people take a step back and let this team progress as the season progresses. Maybe Buffalo was awesome and maybe they were terrible. Who knows that now?
