You know what really pisses me off about some fans......

Your posts just keep getting dumber and dumber. If you’re the result of being raised that way, you might want to change your methods (but it sounds like it’s already too late....maybe your son can change his methods and he might not raise a$$holes).
Hey AWS, you are spitting in the wind here. There are the unprepared for life snowflakes of the world that some have an issue with and I do also to an extent. But I also know doing video for Downingtown East games and coaching football for many years, the loudmouth abusive fans have major issues, and the offspring of such turn out to be (not always) bullies and not great spouses to put it lightly. They also turn into road rage just waiting to happen.

I guess if you want to raise men you can follow one path, if you want to raise what passes for men now you can follow your path.
You realize this is only your opinion, not fact. I've coached around parents like you. Ones that say I don't want to be seen with you. Ffs, get real. Not every kid or man is going to do well no matter what. I've coached for over 35 years and never once have I ever said anything remotely close to what you did regarding my own sons. Both of which have been baseball all stars their entire youth. They sure as hell don't get participation trophies. Every kid gets coached differently if you're a good coach because every kid is different. Some need an ass chewing while others need encouragement. Yet in all my years I have never not been proud and excited to be around my own flesh and blood. They are a gift no matter the outcome on a fking playing field. They're also not machines.

And yes, I spanked my kids as well. Oh the outrage. It worked. It drew a line they got. Four worst words a parent can say to a child. I'm disappointed in you. Yeah mom and dad, because you were so fking perfect. Right?

I never struck a child. Not once. You can resort to physical abuse, your choice, but you can never take it back.

I never once abused my children. They got spanked one time and knew why they did. It set a line in the sand that made them realize, Mom and Dad mean what they say.

I taught my son and his friends without dads (death, divorce, drugs, not giving a damn) how to play baseball and basketball with lots of negative reinforcement. Just like my dad taught me.

Guess who has a bunch of his sons friends visit on holidays and call during the year to keep in touch? My wife tells me they come not because I am special, but because they knew I cared enough to get upset when they did things wrong.
Guess who's son does the same? He and my daughter are very successful with great grades, great jobs and they're both physically and mentally tough. Because I taught them things from a positive angle doesn't mean I tolerated bullshit, especially in regards to teaching them shooting.

My God you are dense.

Do you think that my son and his friends took “get a ride home” or “we disown you” seriously?
Attention getters, no doubt, but life scarring?

Then another critic says he hit his kids, I guess to show what a tough guy he is.

What the hell? Some of you have issues.

booing is a coward's act, like internet trolling

If you want to tell somebody that they suck, do it face to face, like a man

Perhaps you can share your other rules of life with us?

We are talking sports here, not the Bill of Rights. This is not life and death.

There would be no program, no 100,000
Seat stadium, no multi million dollar coaching salaries, no tv, no press conferences, no 85 scholarships, no athletic training facilities, no practice facility if all that was permitted was for people to stay seated, sipping tea, and politely applauding while saying “well played”.

You have an issue yourself if you feel a child getting his or her ass spanked is child abuse. There are many forms of physical "discipline" that absolutely would be abuse, which could include an ass spanking if it was excessive in force or volume.

Can you imagine what would happen to John McKay today if he made a joke at the expense of his players by suggesting he supported their execution?

Now that was harsh. Funny as hell too.

Bear Bryant, Rockne, and the like would probably lead the booing if their teams performed like ours did in the first half. Hell, Bear might have killed an assistant coach at halftime as a warning to the others and his players.

I never hit my kids. My choice. What I said to them was half serious. They knew that, but then again they weren’t stupid.

I used to yell at my son when he played football and basketball.

“81 who told you you could play?”

“81, you have been disowned by your family”.

“81, wake up!”

“22, play some defense.”

“22 you will have to get a ride home”, when an hour before I told him I won’t want to be seen with him after the game if he continued to play half assed.

You know what? He plans to treat his kid the same way.

If a boo crushed his sensitive spirit I would be ashamed of him. He knows he has to do something to earn cheers and he earns boos when he does something to deserve them.

So there is no confusion, Harrisburg Dave is NOT my father (thank goodness)

Exactly, one thing I learned about teaching was to tell them what to do, not what to not do. That’s in the moment. Now later I explain why we don’t do the negative , but not for immediate correction.
Let’s say it’s target practice for deer season, saying don’t jerk the trigger reminds them to jerk the trigger. It’s better to say squeeze the trigger gently so you get a surprise break .
This is while we are practicing. Later on at home I explain why the negative is wrong, but in the moment it’s piss poor communication.

They’re pro athletes not kids.

A. It's booing, it doesn't hurt anything. B. These are college men, typically 18-22. If we can send them off to die at war for the government's financial interests, they can't certainly handle some modest verbal criticism.

Agree. It's part of preparing them for manhood. If they don't get it here then they'll get it in the real world. Also and to further your point, if we can send them off to fight China, Iran, NoKo, etc. then they should be able to purchase a weapon on choice without age restriction. Thank you.

Does anyone know who Franklin might be referencing when he said moving some guys around in the Press Conference? I want to know who I'm going to boo before the game starts. Thanks in advance.
