Cast your mind back to the race for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. It was then that Joe Biden emerged as the “Great Moderate Hope.” Recall that by the time the first Democratic presidential primary debates were held in late June 2019, leading candidates were seeking to outflank one another to the left. The thinking was that a Democratic electorate radicalized by the Trump presidency would respond favorably to maximally progressive positions.

Many of these candidates endorsed a wide range of radical policy options: “Medicare for All” reforms that would eliminate private health insurance; a Green New Deal with an aggressive timeline for reducing reliance on fossil fuels; banning fracking; decriminalizing unauthorized migration over the Mexican border; providing health insurance to illegal immigrants; allowing prisoners to vote; abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and promising reparations to the descendants of slaves.

Joe Biden, by and large, did not participate in this race to the left. Instead, he took advantage of both his primary opponents’ radical ideas and the chaos of Trump’s governance by striking a moderate note, promising to pursue progressive but sensible policies, restore the “soul of America,” provide the help Americans needed to get through the crisis, and, of course and above all, beat Donald Trump. This was a congenial message to the Democratic primary electorate, starting with black voters in South Carolina on February 29 and running through every demographic on Super Tuesday and beyond. It turned out that, despite the strenuous appeals of many candidates to the party’s rising left, most Democratic primary voters had more pragmatic and moderate views than the media-anointed advocates for a more radical party. Other candidates’ failure to understand this emptied the field for Biden, who cruised to the nomination after Super Tuesday.

Joe Biden's dementia and dishonesty was on full display last night as he discussed Zuckerberg's elimination of "Fact Checkers" from Facebook. Biden lied to 330,000,000 American's and the rest of the watching world when before and after his election as President, he ASSURED us that he knew nothing about Hunter's foreign business dealings. But no, he didn't mention that fact as a reason for Fact Checkers.

Last evening he decried Zuckerberg's elimination saying that 'a billionaire can buy something and say, "by the way from this point on, were not going to, were not going to fact check anything...and when you have millions of people reading 'going online, reading this stuff "I think it is really SHAMEFUL." BIDEN's lecture came immediately after NEWSOM, the CRYBABY begged Biden to stop the misinformation and disinformation that Californians and others are saying about Newsom's dereliction of his duty to implement fire prevention measures for LA. (Do you think Newsom is trying to resurrect his reputation in order to capture the Presidency in 2028?)

Recalling Biden's fact checkers, the 51 Intelligence agents, who LIED their asses off leading to his election win and Zuckerberg's recent info that Biden's Administration personnel screamed and cursed at FB employees to CENSOR all discourse about the Covid 19 vaccine side effects the idea that installing FACT CHECKERS is just indicative of a mind devoid of self-assessment and a desire to control the media.

Biden is doing a great job CEMENTING his legacy as the dumbest, most senile, most dishonest President in the history of the country! Currently America says he is second behind Richard Nixon, and this is so despite his lawfare against Donald Trump. Jan 20 can't come soon enough. Witness his disparate treatment of the California residents who are suffering at least in part due to NEWSOM's inaction on fire prevention and the victims of Helene and Milton hurricane victims in the Carolinas who get not 100% of loss coverage by the feds but a 'Forbearance" of their mortgage payments for 1 year, and $750.00, but not 100% of losses.

For more than eight years, the climate scientist Michael Mann harassed National Review through litigation over a blog post — until, eventually, the First Amendment brought an end to his attack. This week, a court in our nation’s capital ordered Mann to pay us $530,820.21 worth of attorney’s fees and costs, and to do so within 30 days. It is time for him to get out his checkbook, and sign on the dotted line.

This restitution is welcome, if incomplete. As was made clear during the discovery process, Mann’s explicitly stated intention was to use a “major lawsuit” as a vehicle with which to “ruin National Review.” Happily, Mann failed in this endeavor. But, while all’s well that ends well, his failure exacted costs nevertheless. Between 2012 and 2019 — with the courts inexplicably refusing to apply legal provisions ostensibly designed to prevent frivolous lawsuits such as Mann’s — we were forced to spend a considerable amount of time and money defending ourselves against his malicious, meritless suit. Between 2019 and now, we have been obliged to expend yet more effort trying to recoup at least some of our costs. This week’s award will not undo all of the damage that Mann has inflicted upon us, and upon journalism more broadly — we had asked for $1 million in fees and costs, and even that was a fraction of what we have spent — but it will, at least, go some way toward making us whole.
