#1 Ok St vs 7 Cornell

Yep, Brock is tough. He broke Grey. I lost track of how many stalling points Grey gave up.

133 Final: Mark Grey loses a 17-6 major decision to Kaid Brock. Cornell leads OK State 13-10.

141: Will Koll vs. Dean Heil

141 Final: Will Koll loses a 6-1 decision to Dean Heil. Cornell is tied with OK State, 13-13.

Heil batting 1.000.....2 shots 2 scores. 1 ride 4 min of RT and 6-1 win....

149 Final: Joey Galasso loses by fall to Anthony Collica. Cornell trails OK State 19-13.

Collica that good or galasso that bad?

Match not in doubt for a second.

Joey just looked uninspired to be nice

157 End of 3rd: Smith up 14-6 with 1:07 RT

Ok ST clinches the match

157 Final: Kyle Simaz loses a 15-6 major decision to Joe Smith. Cornell trails OK State 23-13

Due to OSU's 3 losses to lower ranked guys (NP, Rogers, and Crutchmer), we are going to inch closer to the Cowboys if we hold serve at Reno. Well, more than inch. Bad loss by Picc.

My radio feed dropped about 10 times - annoying. Announcers were good but pretty subdued.

And 197 and hwt were lacking.

Ina duel I don't think we lose more than 3 matches against them.

I'd give them edge at 141 and 133. Not impressed with Cutchmer and I think our guys have a shot with him. Definitely if it's Hall

I don't see them winning anywhere else

Galasso and Grey both suck. I can't see more than 3 wins for OSU vs PSU. If our 133 and 141 doesn't give up bonus points, it will be a blood letting by PSU.

Not a very impressive performance by OSU. If Palacio wrestles, they probably would have lost. Grey is probably as big an enigma for Cornell as Jimmy is for Penn State. When he was a youth wrestler in NJ, he was said to be better than his brother Mike, who was the first NJ wrestler to not lose in state, iirc. Mark Grey has actually regressed each year at Cornell. Galasso was pretty shocking tonight also.

How many fans attended ?

I know that if either Cornell or Oklahoma State came to Rec Hall on a Friday night, the place would be completely packed - it would be 3-deep on the track above the stands.

Penn State definitely matches up better with the Cowboys in a dual then in a tournament setting. OSU seemed to be the early season clear #1 but this performance certainly raises some questions. Could be a wild NCAAs this year.

Based on tonight I would give them 133, 141, 174 w toss up at 197 in a dual.

If Cutch stays off the bottom I don't see how Weigel can score on him. He's not very nifty on his feet and unranked Honis had him eating resilite the entire 2nd period.

anyone see mikey, he owes me 2 dollars
He owes you big time. John Smith said in last night's post-match press conference that there was never a plan to send starters to Reno. In fact, he went out of his way to say that if he knew Penn State was going he probably would have gone (which presumably would have meant moving the dual this thread is about).

I have a ton of respect for John Smith but the comment about PSU attending Reno cannot be factual unless he and everyone on his staff are still playing Pong with their 70's controller.

I would bet what he meant was that the Cornell dual was locked in before it came out that PSU was going to Reno instead of the Scuffle. He wasn't going to have his guys wrestle that Cornell dual, and make his guys weigh in 36 hours later a connecting flight away.

And Cornell is going to OU on sunday. I completely believe that the ok state scheduler had no idea about psu to reno when they did the deal with Cornell probably a year ago

The PSU schedule was one of the late ones to be presented to the public.
Pretty sure Smith wasn't making up any stories.

Especially when you figure everybody would have expected PSU to show up at the Scuffle in Jan. 1.

Yea, there is no blame on Smith here. When I saw Reno was on the schedule, I just assumed it would be backups from OSU just like in previous years.

So you are saying that John Smith lied to Togs. WOW.

Well guys...you may get your wish in the Dual Championship Series. With Missouri's injuries, the marquee match-up has a good probability early on to be Oklahoma State vs the winner of the round-robin matches between Ohio State, Iowa, and Penn State. Way early, so I'll wait to see how more of the season unfolds before making any predictions. Doubt last nights dual is 100% indicative of how good Okie State is...remember, we had some uninspired duals during some of our NC years.
