Can he win it? Absolutely. Given how it's gone so far, barring Fix going anorexic for a month to suck down, there are probably at least 20-25 guys who legitimately have a shot. I wouldn't bet on Davis, but unless someone actually emerges as a favorite, he's one of the 20-25.I’m sure not picking it but with how wild 125 is this year can anyone see Davis actually winning the whole thing? I think it’s a bit too far for me but I absolutely think he AA’s
Those are, in fact, the rules! In the words of @CSauertiegPSU "SOMEBODY has to win 125"
If I could bet on anyone I would bet on Davis. Can he win it? Absolutely. Why would you say such a thing!?!?Honestly, if I have to pick someone out of this muck right now in 125, I think it would be Ayala. Iowa has suffered so much this year (really ever since Lord Spencer was left counting rafters while his mom blamed her glasses for what she was seeing) and has become kind of a national laughingstock in the wrestling world, and I think the wrestling gods might throw them a bone somewhere. I 100% believe that Bartlett is going to beat Woods at nationals, so this would be the feel good story to salvage a small piece of dignity for their season.
It's getting to the point where I'm kind of feeling sorry for them. Iowa is currently a top program that is totally in shambles. As much as we love to poke fun at IRONY and the other clowns, we'd miss them if they offed themselves. Also, Ayala is good, too. Not what I would typically think of as good enough to win nationals, but 125 this year isn't a typical weight, and there is currently no one who I would consider a national champion caliber wrestler there. Figs is the closest, but his early results were inconsistent and now he's hurt. Ayala is as good as anyone else left out there. Why would you say such a thing!?!?
I agree it would make sense but the OKST board has some people swearing that it will not be happening, which has lowered my expectations of him doing so.I am not saying explicitly that Daton is going down to 125, but watch this space
I was half kidding, but I have zero sympathy after the way Iowa treated Zalesky, what Brands did to VT, ........It's getting to the point where I'm kind of feeling sorry for them. There are at least 15 guys who are legit AA contenders if not 20. I do think Fix will come down and settle this #1 curse thing eventually.I’m sure not picking it but with how wild 125 is this year can anyone see Davis actually winning the whole thing? I think it’s a bit too far for me but I absolutely think he AA’s
Oh my god. I just spit water all over my work table laughing at this. Hilarious!Real shame... too bad Spencer doesn't have 1 more year left....
I'd really like to see him get decked again.
I don't see him getting there. He will be a shell of himselfI agree it would make sense but the OKST board has some people swearing that it will not be happening, which has lowered my expectations of him doing so.
Older people like my grandfather lose weight and height as they get older. They lose bone density. Fix is probably starting to experience this with his age and losing 8 pounds might be easier than you think.I am not saying explicitly that Daton is going down to 125, but watch this space
2020 says "hi."Those are, in fact, the rules!
I agree. If he weighed 130 at last weigh-in as reported, then he is definitely considering it. I would not be surprised to see him stay around 129-130 until very close to NCAAs. I can see him going in ranked 33rd at 125. He takes out #1 and then gets the #1 bracket schedule the rest of the way. That is how I would play it. Okie State has done it before. No sources but I do expect Fix to go 125, this is his last shot at a title. Would he rather face Crookham, Nagao, Vito or .... I don't even know at 125 anymore.
Dont worry, you’re safe.😉I definitely would not want to be ranked #1 this year. LOL.
Very, very true. Both on the 125 part and the ranked #1 part. LOL.Dont worry, you’re safe.😉
It worked slightly better for Suriano.Didnt Nato go 125/125/133/125? No one thought he would be effective back down at 125, and sure enough, he wasnt.
There are only 2 undefeated guys left at 125 and one of them is Davis. Who does he have coming up?
Thank you, i have gut feeling Mr Davis will be #1 before his debut at Carver.Courtesy of Wrestlestat.
Little bit easier to major someone with the 3-pt takedown, but I like it. I didn't see the match, but if it was 3 takedowns to none,... that is a major in my mind,Dang I’m not surprised about Surtin winning but by major decision?!?!
Don't think so, he'll likely be undefeated but only one quality win in Kaylor. Ayala if he beats Smith will outrank him.Thank you, i have gut feeling Mr Davis will be #1 before his debut at Carver.
I'd go Ayala or Noto. We'll find out a lot more about Davis in the coming weeks.Honestly, if I have to pick someone out of this muck right now in 125, I think it would be Ayala. At this point, would anyone be surprised by a double DQ in the finals? Those are, in fact, the rules!
He'd still have to follow NCAA descent rules and make 125 at B12s. The absolute latest he can weigh 129-130 is 2/17.I agree.
Wouldn't it be great if he came in as 33 and lost in the opening round (not the pigtail) to Noto? Would rather see that as the final, but it really isn't that far fetched if he has a bad cut.I agree. If he weighed 130 at last weigh-in as reported, then he is definitely considering it. I would not be surprised to see him stay around 129-130 until very close to NCAAs. Ferrari vs Downey at 125?At this point, would anyone be surprised by a double DQ in the finals?
Was praying that somehow, someway, the stars align and we see these two idiots wrestle at OTTs and somehow, the mat implodes.Ferrari vs Downey at 125?
Dang I’m not surprised about Surtin winning but by major decision?!?!
