With the usual caveat that until brackets are posted, you can never be sure who is competing at an Open, the following are shown as registered for this Saturday's Wilkes Open:

- Jon Consorti
- Jack Davis
- Brian Friery

Love Davis. Great kid .hidden talent

Davis defeated Patrick Miko (Wilkes) by a pin @ 2:20 in R1. He followed that up with a TF over Brock Horton (Wilkes) in the quarters, 21-3 @ 4:50. He'll face Ramadan Attasaouv (Wyoming Seminary) in the semis.

Consorti fell to Mitch Polito (Lehigh), 22-5 TF @ 5:52 in R1. He then lost to Nick Tannuzzo (Wyoming Seminary) in R1 of Consolations, 19-1 TF @ 4:14.

Briery majored Felix Belga (Drexel) in R1, 10-2. He pinned Michael Brown (Wilkes) @ 2:07 in R2. He majored Zachary Ford (Rhode Island College) in the quarters, 11-3. He'll face Brian Meyer (Lehigh) in the semis.

Davis lost his semifinal match to Ramadan Attasaouv (Wyoming Sem.), 6-4. He'll wrestle Satoshi Abe (Lehigh) in the 3rd place match.

Friery lost to Brian Meyer (Lehigh) in the semis, 5-2. He'll face Alex Carida (Bloom) in the 3rd place match.

Davis lost to Satoshi Abe (Lehigh) in the 3rd-place match, 3-2, so he took 4th.

Friery lost to Alex Carida (Bloom) in the 3rd-place match, 8-3, so he took 4th.

We assume, that if the plan is to pull one of their redshirts, then they will scuffle. Of course, while we know a plan exists, we are not privy to it. Though hopefull!

Won't know about Teasdale or Teske until it's announced by the SID. Even then, things change until the tournament starts.

Last year, the list of attached and unattached wrestlers was released on December 29th, and included 17 wrestlers. Haven't heard a firm number...it will surely be in the same ballpark as last year.

Note: You may find info prior to the 29th in the registration lists provided by Floarena...just guessing.

SID, short for Sidney? Can we pump that lad for some early info? ;)

Curious question. When guys go to tournaments like Wilks open. Does a coach or team manager go with them?

I went to the Wilkes open a few years ago when the Alton’s attended, Casey was with them. I believe it was their redshirt year, if I remember correctly.

I don’t remember if he did any corner coaching or if he was just with them for the day.

Andrew wrestled as a true freshman while Dylan shirted. It’s possible both went but if so Casey was only in Andrew’s corner.

It was a while ago and memory is fading. I am pretty sure it was a redshirt wrestling, since a rostered wrestler would not be wrestling there as it wasnt a team competition date. So I can only assume that it was one of the brothers wrestling during his red shirt year.

First of all, a guy taking a redshirt is still on the team roster. Second, I seem to recall one of the brothers at the Wilkes open, as an upperclassman, while trying to work his way back into the lineup from an injury; i.e., not a redshirt situation.

You are correct, I missused the term roster. Your second point makes sense also, working back from an injury. I did admit to having foggy recollection, sorry for any misleading info, I just remember seeing him wrestle and Casey being there.

I believe there is a limit on the amount of guys that could go to an amount or it would be considered a schedule date and count towards points. So if you are under the limit I don’t see why a coach couldn’t coach. As far as I know this is non redshirts

If you are redshirting you have to wrestle unattached to retain the redshirt and you can't have a coach in your corner if you are unattached.

The number of wrestlers that can attend a tournament, and be paid for by the university is up to six (6). Seven (7) or more, and it's a competition date. Under seven, and a rostered, non-redshirt CAN have the coach in the corner.
