I’m PSU all day, anyone saying ZV TDwasn’t 2 years is crazy. That’s two & Hall had “plenty” of time to recover...he didn’t! Period!!!
True, though even if Hall had escaped, I think Zahid takes it in overtime. Hall looked to be the more tired of the two.
No shame in losing to Valencia. He’s very talented.
It’s been said before but I will be shocked if Zahid makes 74 again.
Having a ref review their own call is horrible. Not blaming the refs but that should be a possible change. Shouldn’t be left to the refs, I get it.
True, no shame losing to Zahid. But it shouldn't have been due to a bad takedown call. Or maybe it was a takedown. I don't know anymore.

You can't just shoot on Valencia. He's long and has great arms and hand fighting. Mark was much more aggressive this year and pressed the action. Both takedowns came from scrambles, not clean shots. There's a reason for that. Both are great at stopping shots. Tough match but Mark needed to get out and didn't.
hall got what he earned. its that simple. great season and one season left to finish on top.

Seriously, props to Zahid for making 174 and starving his brother.
Tough loss for Hall. He's another one that wrestles close matches. That strategy is going to bite you sometimes. I don't understand why he doesn't open his offense up more. The talent to do so is certainly there.
Beat me to it ... just doesn't make any sense. Only thing this will breed is more useless challenges like hands to the face ... because a ref's not going to over turn their own call.
Refs tonight after bricks:. " I got this, you got this too? Cool, let's act like we are looking at it and then confirm it even if it is bullshit"
In general I agree with this sentiment and it's fairly common here. That said, Zahid is a different animal and I think Mark wrestled him VERY well both times this year. Not taking anything away from Zahid, but I still think the takedown call was questionable and I think Z fled the entire 3rd period and could have EASILY been called for stalling twice.
Just a good match between two great and equally matched wrestlers. It happens and there's really no blame here.
Yes, I thought they were going to a system where independent refs not on the floor review it in a booth. The crowd can sway calls. The coaches can influence. Refs don't want to overturn their friend's calls. I heard one ref say to the other "I got it as a TD. How about you?" That tends to cajole and even subtly coerce the other, especially when there are age and career factors involved.
Yes, he did. ZV was the one who originated most of the action throughout the match (until the last half of the 3rd).
It’s easy to get tired when you are literally chasing a guy around the mat the whole 3rd period. ZV barely engaged. I guess that’s smart. Only one stall call with less than 30 sec left.
I think Hall has it but the smallest mistakes cost u at this level. Not everyone understands that and he has bigger aspirations than National titles. FACTS!! And I’ll say this, he and Zahid have been rolling for years, sometimes the common man gets ya...familiarity costs ya, friendships are forever!
I’m not sure I saw any call get overturned other than the riding time in Cassar/Gable match get dropped 1 second
I know we’ve won matches that way before, but I hate when they let a guy get on his horse for half of the 3rd period.
Re-read the comments. Even a PSU hater like me will admit these guys have been really complimentary towards Lewis. Pretty classy.
Happy for the small programs UNI, Vatech...rutgers....getting these NCs. that helps grow the sport.
