Seen where Shaq predicted without Joel the Hawks win this in 5. Am I missing something?? I get that Joel is one of the top 5 players in the league and any team losing talent like that would hurt their playoff chances but it’s not like they have nothing else on the roster. 4 of these games will be played at a packed Wells Fargo center where the Sixers play great.
Are the Hawks the hot new flavor in the playoffs? The Knicks were a dumpster fire in the playoffs. From the little I watched of that series the Hawks have shooters but don’t play any D. If Doc hunts for Trae and Heuerter (sp) the Sixers should be able to put up points. Neither of them want to play D. It’s like people forget the Sixers actually LIKE to play D. I’m not saying the Sixers would have a cake walk without Joel but to just bury them seems crazy.
I do think they are going to be without him much if not all of this series. But I think if they know that going into the series, Doc can come up with a plan and grind out games.

Atlanta is a great passing team and doesn’t seem to force shots. 60-38 with the half three minutes away.
Sixers look like $hit. Every point is a struggle for them while every shot for the Hawks is a wide open 3.
Last I saw they had 12 turnovers at one point. Not gonna win many games in the playoffs this way.

I bailed midway through the third. Was smoking ribs and sipping mai tai’s outside with family. Didn’t want to let the game sour me. Just too nice of a day. Looks like they came back and made it a game. Win the next game and it’s 1-1. Hopefully they learned something from this. Joel with 39....I guess his knee is ok. Good sign going forward.
Hopefully they can clean some things up. If the Sixers blast the Hawks game 2 I feel better. If not could be a 7 game series. This is why you fight for the #1 seed.

Game 2 starting out much better for the Sixers, as they lead 33-20 at the end of the 1st quarter.
Of course, the beginning of the 2nd quarter is a mess, and the lead is cut to 35-29 with 8:30 left in the quarter.

Damn, with about 2 minutes left in the half, I said out loud, take Embiid out, as he has 2 fouls.
So he ends up with an offensive foul and then gets a technical at the 1:00 minute mark.

Tobi has a tendency to over dribble in the post. He’s good when he’s making quick decisions. Tobi in the post needs to be sprinkled in.

with about 2 mins left I was gonna question docs lineup of shake, Matisse, Joel, Ben, and hill. Where was the offense gonna come from…I’ll be in the corner enjoying my humble pie.

The NBA will do that to you. Every time you underestimate a player's talent, they'll make you eat your thoughts/words.
Sixers have enough of a lead that Doc subbed out Ben to take away that possibility
Huge win for the Sixers. Hopefully that sets the tone for the D on Trae for the rest of the series.
