To try and encapsulate "The Process" into a few sentences:
76ers lose a lot of games for many, many years to try and get top picks to find generational talents. Awful basketball consumed by the fans of Philly.
They mostly miss (see Fultz, Markelle and Okafor, Jahlil amongst others).
Some become serviceable players and even All-Stars here but mostly elsewhere (Holliday, Jrue, Williams, Louis and Vucevic, Nik).
Everything hinges on an injured center from Kansas who skipped his first few years as a pro due to injury/recovery. He becomes an All-Star and is capable of amazing things on the court.
After #21 develops the team trades a lot of players and assembles multiple rosters that have at least one obvious flaw (see Reddick, JJ and defense, and Simmons, Ben shooting/FT shooting).
A bad shot from the corner by K. Leonard bounces in and ends their deepest playoff run vs. the Raptors who win it all.
With #21 they've got a shot. Without him they will beat poor teams and lose to good ones.
Was at the parade in 1983- skipped a day of high school and snuck a 6 pack into the Vet.
Fingers crossed for the best- but not optimistic : (
