Absolute worst case scenario this session. Not losing, I knew that could happen but Brady gets seriously injured and Robbie might be as well (we'll never know)

Well crap!!!!!

At the top of the list for the worst for shoulder injuries is baseball pitcher and wrestling.

Wrestling is 'the' worst. Even years later, you never know if the next match will put it in a unique position of stress where it blows out. Just ask Anthony.

Today could not have been worse from an injury pov, as from where I am sitting, both might have an impact on next season as well. Let's hope I am way off base.

I will warn you ahead of time - with Iowa bringing back the house I am in the 'shirt the farm - punt year' thread starter camp. I will lay out the genious of it later. :)

BWI mob don't gang up on me.

Shoulder injuries don't just bother you years later, they can bother you decades later. Take it from someone who has personal experience in the matter.

okay, that's it for me in this thread. I've got to get ready for the schedule conflict I have.

keep it civil, and as always:
- use the Quote function
- provide scores of matches
- try to inform others of mat assignments for upcoming matches involving PSUers

Can we post PBP of the Hidlay Brothers, too ??

[ J/K !! ... I kid, I kid !! ]

Hey guys it's all good. A decade ago top 5 was pure gold. We are spoiled, that's all. When the dust settles we still have Cael and a stable full of young studs.

Can't wait to see what our upper weights do this afternoon, and regardless we have waited 2 years to see this elite level of folkstyle. I will even look forward to watching the bad guys kids go at it. 3 days is just way too short.

It's funny. In one thread we are trying to figure out where our recruits and grey/red shirts are going to fit. Then two guys injured are injured and all of these things seem to work their way out. For some reason (wrestling style, genetics, bad luck) there are some guys that always seem to get injured an others always answer the bell. Cassar, Shak, now Berge, maybe Howard seem like it's always one injury or another, some major, some just a few weeks. Other guys seem to escape the injuries for other unknow reasons DT, Zain, NLee, Nolf always answered the bell. Nolf with one leg!!

True that.

I impacted my humerus 20 years ago. I got stiffer and stiffer until just swinging my arm back and forth walking felt like somebody put a hot poker dipped in tabasco in it. A round of prednisone and 8 weeks of PT got it back, but I have gradually lost a lot of flexibility in that shoulder, and i can no longer stretch is back to do squats in the gym. Occasionally need to get away from bench press.

Since I have lower back issues from the squats, I guess it's not that big a deal.

I sure would love to have my 17 year old flexibility back.. not that anybody's cranking out fractional Nelson's on it any more.

We haven't heard Brady is withdrawing, have we? I mean, I saw how serious it looked, but I think it was said on this board recently (and I have first hand experience), that sometimes seemingly bad injuries wind up not being as bad. I'm keeping some faith for now, that some ice and a brace will be all Brady needs to continue.

Hang from a pull-up bar for shoulder health. It really helps.

While I agree, the way he reached for Cael's hand and couldn't put weight on it makes me think no way. I can see the kid petitioning for it if he feels he can put weight on it maybe to just try to grind out a win and get on the podium but I wouldn't do it.

If you’ve ever wrecked your knee, him failing after a step or two tells the story.

The irony of misspelling genius is making my head spin.

Is there something that scores even more team points than a pin? Maybe make the opponent cry and quit the sport? Because that’s what we need our remaining wrestlers to do. :(
Lol well murin has a head start on the crying so there's that I kid I kid. But throwing the head gear was a little off for iowa lol

Not to nitpick and it really doesn't matter, but shouldn't this be Session 3B? Still the QF round, just the upper half weights.
Yeah, Session 4 is the semis. This will get confusing later @Tom McAndrew .

I wondered about that, and saw it called 3B in one place, and 4 in another place. I didn't have a lot of time to resolve that, so I went with 4.

3B makes more sense, even if it may be technically incorrect, so I'm going to change the Subject line and the text in my OP

Um.....that first turn was actually a full nelson. Hand across the neck and then the right hand pry high shoulder. They do not have to touch.

And $$ says that's where the re-injury occurred.
I've watched it a few times and i guess I'm not seeing it. It looked like a Mills half to me. Was the right shoulder pry before or after he had the wrist?

lol. Byers seems to have a woody for the Hidley kids, as every time one of them wrestles, Byers keeps updating their match even if a PSU guy is wrestling.

I didn't even comment on it, but Byers missed over 30 seconds of Nick Lee's match while he blabbered about action on other mats.
And it's not like Nick's matches are a snooze fest and he has to fill time. I get motion sickness watching Nick.

Roar, I love the question. For me, I want to see Warner and Ferarri with Fararri winning. And I never thought I'd pull for him as I don't care for his off mat Bravado.
Assuming life has symmetry and karma is real, Ferrari wins at the buzzer due to poor officiating.

Odd, I now see that it's being referred to as Session 4 everywhere else, which I guess means that tonight is Session 5 and tomorrow is 6 & 7. Which of course goes against everything that's right in the world, but it's a weird year.
