2022 Recruiting Class Thread

Ryan Snyder FC'ed him to Rutgers just a few minutes ago.

His has been an unusual recruitment. Only one official visit taken so far, although he's visited Rutgers several times unofficially. Don't know if his offers from LSU, Texas A&M, etc. are commitable, or if he's just one of those kids who wants to stay as close to home as possible.
Man this thread is hot today. 🔥

A free article about DDS on a Georgia site (and therefore with an obvious GA slant, especially toward the end); nevertheless there is some interesting info in the early part of the article such as the fact that he grew up in a very small town:

I like our chances. Of those 3 schools, I feel like we're the only 1 that fits all of his wants/needs/desires in a school. I hope I'm right.

Interesting that DDS is quoted as saying that he wants to play early and that's a priority in his decision making. I had not heard that to this point. I would imagine he would have every opportunity to start right away at PSU given the needs/depth situation right now at DE.

One NY one time PSU recruit and former PSU player in the ear of the current top NY target for PSU......

Nice.
Doesn't hurt but for someone whose primary factor in the selection process seems to be proximity to home (as opposed to prioritizing such things as a team's history of success, game atmosphere, players in the NFL, etc.), the comparison between the two is approximately 35 miles from home vs approximately 240 miles from home...can't fault the recruit for his legitimate personal priorities 🤷‍♂️

Maybe he wants to commute from home each day 🤷🛵

Are you crazy? If he goes there it’s obvious that his wasn’t a committable offer, or the staff has higher priorities. We can’t use the bag man excuse because Rutgers probably doesn’t know what one is. Just perhaps in this particular situation the kid may make a decision that in his judgment was best for him. If it isn’t PSU there always isn’t some fabricated or nefarious reason.
What’s even funnier is that if he chooses Rutgers, those dimwits will exclaim that this is the changing of the guard and they will now win all recruiting battles with PSU. All hail the sleeping giant on the Banks of the Raritan.

There is probably more bag men in a 50 mile radius of Rutgers than anywhere in the US......lol

What about the four other 4* commits Rutgers has a verbal for that also have PSU offers? None of them were commitable? Lol come on.

It seems unlikely to be PSU but 5* Safety Keon Sabb apparently is announcing on Saturday the 17th.

WE ARE… Smarter

He smart alright!

Rolland: So, I also have a secondary degree I’m pursuing in astrophysics, so I’m hoping to kind of combine those two. Penn State has an aerospace engineering program, so I’m hoping to be a part of that program during my two years at Penn State.

We'll be good with Rolland's plan as long as he sends a couple oh-high-ya DE's into orbit !!!

;) ;)

A little more info ...

The latest Harvard kid ... OT at 6'6"" 295 and we get him in a year with 2 to play. Never seen him play but Trout must like him plus at that size and after he is Galted, he could be a good pick up for us.

It is all about competition every day in practice and great depth for game day. Kids like this have to help.

Probably going to be a little long here in the next few weeks as some of the targets we want are probably going to pick elsewhere. I really wanted the NY LB though......
As far as the Harvard guy....I assume we will keep hitting the portal for the next dew years until we can get an OL Class that matches the skill talent we bring in. If I am not mistaken Tengwell is the only 2021 OL we have now?

Looks like LB Moses Walker, #1 player in NY in 247 composite, committed to Rutgers today..... :(

PSU needs to put up 50 on them this year to show the NY/NJ recruits the best place to play still and always will be ....
