Abe Assad wins 6-2 but he beat this same guy 22-7 earlier this year. Iowa is winning this round with no bonus minus Spencer and Woods.
The board didn't go to hell. There were a few stupid, overreaction posts about the Facundo loss that should just be ignored. But most posts were reasonable and non-emotional observations.
Where has Max's offense gone??? Geez. And don't tell me about the weight difference. It wasn't an issue last year.

Collar ties early. No shots through 1:30. Make that through 2:00. Dean takes a half shot. 0-0 after one. Dean with a late leg grab. 0-0 after one. Not much action.
Dean takes bottom. Out in 15 secs. 1-0 Dean. Dean with uncommitted shot. Stalling on Hopkins after they trade shots. Dean single switches to a double. Short scramble won by Dean, 3-0. Tries a B&A but no turn. 3-0 after two.
Hopkins chooses neutral. Dean TD makes it 5-0. Going for the B&A. Hopkins should get hit with stalling again. Turtling up to avoid the B&A. On a restart, Dean goes optional and tries to turn from front. Gives escape. Shoots late but it’s a 6-1 final with riding point.

State College is basically the Midwest, so yes.
At the end of the bout, Dean's opponent didn't even take a free point for an escape. Was content to just grab Dean's leg and burn more clock. Seemed more content to just lose by decision than to even try to win. Weird approach for the NCAA tourney.
