Rebrand or unBrand?
Nah. I go to the OSU boards because they're knowledgeable and respectful. NO interest in the Iowa boards. You've been peaking at a couple of the non eat your own HR threads?
Limited to whining about the reaction to Spencer’s loss/pin. Madden was funny though, so credit there.Did I miss the Hawkeye Faithful in the thread? Awfully quiet.
I like Iowa's current Brand!!!
Not much. Pretty boring night of wrestling
Spencer's match showed the importance of a gas tank. Van Ness goes down 8 - 0 and starts to suck the life out of the kid. Levi goes down 6 - 0 and then just pummels the kid into submission by just grinding him down. Talent is essential, but without an endless supply of O2 talent wilts.and I was just thinking, not to punch somebody when they’re down, but Spencer’s career is a bit of a cautionary tale at this point. No doubt he was truly dominant, but it also shows what the pressure cooker can create, and what it can’t.
We need to shut down that Twitter crap.
We should be more sympathetic toward Mrs. Lee.Bunch of posters making a run for Ms Lee now that she can't see their faces
Not sure if he was injured or not. What I do know is he was out of gas and flat on his back with no more struggle to not get pinned.Who says excuses are for Wusses?
Wow!, they are now trying to offer up the excuse, on HR, that Lee, was injured.
I’m still curios where Mendez and Bouzakis end up next year weight wise. You could be right. Mendez is the real deal, but not yet a world beater. Feldman could be. Word is Bouzakis is already looking around. But mostly it’s the number of guys that they have brought in and relatively flamed out that gives me peace.
B Nicolls doesn’t playWe should be more sympathetic toward Mrs. Lee.
Not only did her son lose, but now the family is getting evicted on Monday.
Slight amendment Nit……A GOAT does not need a coach to get in shape.Spencer's match showed the importance of a gas tank. Van Ness goes down 8 - 0 and starts to suck the life out of the kid. Levi goes down 6 - 0 and then just pummels the kid into submission by just grinding him down. Talent is essential, but without an endless supply of O2 talent wilts.
By never getting Lee into shape TnT did him a great disservice.
Wrestling injured is “Iowa Style“Who says excuses are for Wusses?
Wow!, they are now trying to offer up the excuse, on HR, that Lee, was injured.
State of mind.Wrestling injured is “Iowa Style“
I wonder if they'll start the finals at posted this originally in wrong thread. Here we go again ….So I was buying TShirts half way thru the 4th session at the BOK center and about 8 guys wearing Iowa t shirts and sweat shirts were saying something to the the vender inside the center selling t shirts. They were arguing with a bunch of people at once including fans and staff. I’m not sure what was said to get this mob so irate but a kid like 20 years old selling T shirts said so how did your boy Spencer do? and then someone in the Iowa group punched the kid in the face. The group took off and within minutes cops and security were there. Within minutes, all food and drink concessions were stopped. I realize 99% of hawk eye fans are just passionate good people. But this group pissed off about the Spencer Lee outcome we’re just idiots.
Pat glory is going to get beat lolPat Glory say THANK YOU!
I hate the Drake.I bet Drakes mom did.
And to think we could have two on the same team in the same year lol. Has that ever happened before? You have to be great.
Gotta agree with this hereSlight amendment Nit……A GOAT does not need a coach to get in shape.
But if he is not initiating 50% of the action moving forward...he is stalling......so that wont work. I learned that from an "Expert". Then again.....this might have been a literal expert.......ie.....someone who can no longer "spurt". I'll need to reread the 1,500 page rule book to verifyShane's biggest weakness in Neutral is that he losses track of his body posture - he sometimes gets near straight up-&-down when fighting a collar-tie, Russian Tie or clinch.... he did it repeatedly throughout YD match - it finally cost him in latter half of 3rd. No way should YD be able to be close enough to you to get a body-lock when you're leading.... he needs to keep his knees bent and an upper-body bend when fighting those positions.
No excuses needed from NolfState of mind.
I can't recall seeing anyone do what Ramos did there. It started out like a head pinch and turned into a modified assassin. I had speculated that if Lee ever lost again it would be in the third because he was gassed. I don't think he was gassed here, Ramos just pulled a rabbit out of his hat, one of the most creative moves imaginable at the perfect time in the biggest match of the year. All respect in the world for Matt Ramos. In re-watching Ramos roll Lee to his back the critical thing he did was he released his right arm mid roll to hook under Lee's left arm, keeping Lee from rolling through. That action was critical. It was also critical he was able to escape prior to that or none of us would have just witnessed one of the greatest upsets of all time.
the kid was laying there like a stuffed whale didn't make a move! You've been peaking at a couple of the non eat your own HR threads?
Fatigue makes cowards of us all.Spencer's match showed the importance of a gas tank. Van Ness goes down 8 - 0 and starts to suck the life out of the kid. Being from PA probably doesn't hurt so much. Other great ones were from South Dakota, New York, Illinois, Indiana as well as Iowa. What has to hurt is knowing if Spencer had chosen to wrestle for Penn State he would have been a 4 time all time great.well he is still the best ever at iowa bet it kills them that he is from PA!!
