It’s gonna happen: when the offspring of the elementary kids watching Messenbrink graduate, maybe. It's going to be a sad day when those guys graduate and we come back to the pack.

Or he shouldn’t go so he CAN go for NCAAs. If he was not anticipated to be wrestling NCAAs, I’m sure BearClaw would have wrestled if they knew that Carter was definitely out for NCAAsIn that case why the hell wasn't Barraclaugh out there. Hell no I'm not leaving it alone: You can't have it both ways. Either he can't go and this was blown by WHOEVER, or he can go and they said no, and now he's in State College.
Maybe not “better”, but he’s earned the right to be in the conversation. We are truly spoiled!Brooks is absolutely amazing. Even with a 4th championship, it's tough to call him better than these guys:
We can joke, but just like MM grew up in Wisconsin dreaming of wearing that blue singlet with the white band around the waist, there were hundreds if not thousands of little kids who watched Mitch go crazy today and thought I want to be that guy on that team…It’s gonna happen: when the offspring of the elementary kids watching Messenbrink graduate, maybe.
Bearclaw wasn't out there because if Carter didn't forfeit he wouldn't have been eligible for Nationals. The fact that Bearclaw didn't wrestle is proof they're planning of having Carter go at the big dance. They did the same thing with Nolf a few years back.In that case why the hell wasn't Barraclaugh out there. Hell no I'm not leaving it alone: You can't have it both ways. Either he can't go and this was blown by WHOEVER, or he can go and they said no, and now he's in State College.
No way. It's clearly an elaborate conspiracy created by Cael to hurt both Carter and Terrell, weaken team leadership and crush team morale.Or he shouldn’t go so he CAN go for NCAAs. If he was not anticipated to be wrestling NCAAs, I’m sure BearClaw would have wrestled if they knew that Carter was definitely out for NCAAs
I have no problem saying he's a better technician hands down. I think we have a lot of greats but AB is just a different breedBrooks is absolutely amazing. Even with a 4th championship, it's tough to call him better than these guys:
Didn’t Nolf wrestle a couple of matches though?Bearclaw wasn't out there because if Carter didn't forfeit he wouldn't have been eligible for Nationals. Give it 3 weeks. They'll be tons of lineup projection threads.Thinking ahead to next year, what is projected lineup by weight class?
I don't think he did.Didn’t Nolf wrestle a couple of matches though?
DT was about the same in my opinion with technique.I have no problem saying he's a better technician hands down. I think we have a lot of greats but AB is just a different breed
I thought about that, I'm kind of surprised he didn't.If Carter REALLY wanted to wrestle, how could Cael have stopped him? He weighed in and was on the mat in his singlet and headgear. HE could've defied Cael and just wrestled and there would've been nothing Cael could do.
Just checked, he wrestled two matches on the first day.I don't think he did.
If one of our players is willing to enter the ring and represent our proud university he should damn well get to do just that. This has the myopic fingerprints of the PSU administration all over it.Carter had his nation-leading 64 match win streak ended, a chance to become a 4x B1G Champion and Hodge Winner ended... and potentially fully cleared to wrestle by his private physician.... and apparently led to believe by PSU that the decision would be his and he would be allowed to wrestle (apparently several hundred people from Erie, including his family, made trip to College Park to watch him wrestle.... and they were treated to watching him forfeit.). But some of you a-holes say he has nothing to be pissed about. Don't necessarily think it was Cael, but my Alma Mater's Athletic Department and shit-show Administration has done it yet again.
Especially after that tweet a few weeks ago about over coming obstacles. This whole thing makes no senseI thought about that, I'm kind of surprised he didn't.
That being said, if he decided to quit and not go for a fourth title because he's mad it will be a very sad ending to his career. Nobody just quits this far into the season when they're the favorite to win a title.
The question should be "who tests the water in Erie?"Anyone know if they test the water in Erie?
You think somebody from outside the wrestling program called Cael and told him he couldn't let Carter wrestle? If that's the case where do you think Cael will be coaching next year? I'm thinking he ends up at Pitt.If one of our players is willing to enter the ring and represent our proud university he should damn well get to do just that. This has the myopic fingerprints of the PSU administration all over it.
I'm sure Cael spoke with the officials as well as the opposing staff ahead of time.If Carter REALLY wanted to wrestle, how could Cael have stopped him? He weighed in and was on the mat in his singlet and headgear. HE could've defied Cael and just wrestled and there would've been nothing Cael could do.
It's been said before, but 149 is probably Kasak's best weight. Which is fortunate when SVN went down, but not so much longer term.
Kasak won't be going down to 141. If Beau leaves and Kaysak doesn't redshirt, SVN might be sucking on ice cubes. SVN is not tall and wrestled 132 at Blair. What are the chances Kasak gets down to 141 and challenges Bartlett next season?
He did, but his injury occurred on Jan. 29, 2018. Big Tens started on March 3, 2018. He had 4 1/2 weeks to rehab his injury.Didn’t Nolf wrestle a couple of matches though?
I stand corrected. Thank you.Just checked, he wrestled two matches on the first day.
Agreed - it was just and observation and a test of my memory. He did, but his injury occurred on Jan. 29, 2018. Big Tens started on March 3, 2018. He had an almost five weeks to to rehab his injury.
If I remember correctly they made a rule for that year after the Suriano situation because they had to re seed the entire 125 bracket when they became aware that he wouldn’t be wrestling. He did, but his injury occurred on Jan. 29, 2018. Well that's what I am saying too.Or he shouldn’t go so he CAN go for NCAAs. If he was not anticipated to be wrestling NCAAs, I’m sure BearClaw would have wrestled if they knew that Carter was definitely out for NCAAs
Some people have lost their damn minds over this. There's some Area 51 level stuff floating around here. Thankfully we haven't hit GIA level conspiracies yet.You think somebody from outside the wrestling program called Cael and told him he couldn't let Carter wrestle? If that's the case where do you think Cael will be coaching next year? I'm thinking he ends up at Pitt.
players lolIf one of our players is willing to enter the ring and represent our proud university he should damn well get to do just that. This has the myopic fingerprints of the PSU administration all over it.
It is hard to believe that Carter, would throw all his wrestling dreams away over this situation. If he quits and leaves, then he will not get an automatic shot at trials, will not be a 4 timer. will be out of NLWC and PSU.Carter had his nation-leading 64 match win streak ended, a chance to become a 4x B1G Champion and Hodge Winner ended... and potentially fully cleared to wrestle by his private physician.... and apparently led to believe by PSU that the decision would be his and he would be allowed to wrestle (apparently several hundred people from Erie, including his family, made trip to College Park to watch him wrestle.... and they were treated to watching him forfeit.). Perhaps, but Suriano did take one 0:01 INJ DEF at B10s that year.If I remember correctly they made a rule for that year after the Suriano situation because they had to re seed the entire 125 bracket when they became aware that he wouldn’t be wrestling.
