Purely as an intellectual exercise, if they swap the semi final wrestler shouldn’t they swap the repechage wrestlers?
apparently, the rules are pretty clear that if you don’t make weight both days you’re disqualified. What is the protest about? The weight or the NO MEDAL?
That gives Amit 14 more years to lose her cool and shove Mitchell Mesenbrink after the conclusion of a match. Can she replicate the accomplishments of JB? 😉😛To put it in perspective, at 34, JB set an USA record of 7 combined World and Olympic golds. At 20, Elor has 9 World and Olympic golds.
IOC member standing in corner with hand non-conspicuously sticking out as the committee awaits word from aforementioned member before knowing proper decision.Read the same thing. Still under appeal from my understanding
Proper payments made to proper committee members makes everything possible in the IOC world. Are they just making rules up as they go? Never heard of UWW promoting the semifinal loser to the finals like this before.
It’s a long standing UWW rule. A crap one, but IOC will hate this as much as we do. Especially if we get shots of a shaved head Vinesh in a hospital bed.Proper payments made to proper committee members makes everything possible in the IOC world.
Thanks, I wasn't aware that was actually a rule. It’s a long standing UWW rule. A crap one, but IOC will hate this as much as we do. Especially if we get shots of a shaved head Vinesh in a hospital bed.
Parrish lost by pin to Japan's FujinamiAny results from Parrish or Jacobson?
Jacobson lost 10-0Any results from Parrish or Jacobson?
Should be getting 57kg and 86kg brackets soon. Tomorrow is gonna be awesome.
Also: who are we kidding, that we won't see excessive cutting like this with 10 weight classes?Posting for the screenshot info more than JBs take, which Pyles pointed out is flawed (Vinesh is normally a 57, and could have gone 53 in Paris)
Hey. This one works out for us. Yazdani - brooks FINAL!!US "draws" another 1 seed. What are the chances.
Apparently they're pretty good, considering we got a bunch of them. /sarcUS "draws" another 1 seed. What are the chances.
Even the 5 time champ from Cuba only had highlights but at least I could catch the 2 hours of teenagers skateboarding. Not that there is anything wrong with that.Sad, but not surprising that NBC didn't see fit to actually run Amit's match in prime time, summarizing it with highlights instead. It wasn't that compelling a match, but she did make history and deserved more air time. Her interview was also great stuff.
Here you go:Psalm1guy, I enjoyed the videos of Amit’s matches you posted. Would you do the same for Sarah’s?
I feel awful for her but she chose her weight and I'm sure her team knew there might be a tough cut depending on match timing. It was on them 100% to make weight. Aaron's overnight cut before his finals weigh-in at trials was ridiculous but he got it done. Also: who are we kidding, that we won't see excessive cutting like this with 10 weight classes?
For a mere 65 cents a day, you could've sponsored a starving Logan Stieber trying to make 61 kg.
Who takes the videos down? Flo police? I don't understand how they make claims to wrestling content shown on regular TV.

Brooks gets the top seed doesn’t he? Is this still a good draw?Lee and RBY get good draws. Can’t complain on Brooks either.
Dauletbekov (KAZ) looks tough, but nothing that Aaron can't handle. Here's Dauletbekov vs Taylor from 2023:Brooks gets the top seed doesn’t he? Is this still a good draw?
Opposite side of Yazdani, Amine, Kurugliev. I’d say that’s a great draw! Tough first match yes, but he’s got the good side of the bracket after the first match.Brooks gets the top seed doesn’t he? Is this still a good draw?
None of the other competitors would have weighed in. They had to stick with the original repechage wrestleres.BTW, it looks like Susaki still is getting pulled through to repechage. Interesting how that is all working.
It would have been another shit move if she was eliminated over this.
How did you transition from Instacart plus to peace I signed up for both but didn’t see how to use the instacart promotion on peacockPeacock's Olympics coverage is really good. Their app shows pretty much every single event in every sport live and they have been posting the replays of a lot of the wrestling matches.
Not sure if this has been posted here, but you can get Peacock free for 2 weeks if you sign up for a free trial of instacart+. The trial for instacart+ is for 2 weeks and then you just have to activate Peacock. The nice thing is you don't have to enter credit card info to sign up so there's no chance of getting screwed at the end of the trial period.
Once you are signed up for instacart+, when you are logged into the instacart website in the menu pulldown there is something like "instacart+ benefits" or something like that. I think it was down at the bottom of that page where you can activate or sign up for some additional freebees. How did you transition from Instacart plus to peace I signed up for both but didn’t see how to use the instacart promotion on peacock
That really wasn't close once DT started pushing things in the 2nd period. The one big advantage DT had against everyone was that he had enough wins under his belt so that his confidence was solid. He went into every match knowing he could win. AB needs to just stick to what he does best and not get rattled about being on the world's biggest stage for wrestling. He's definitely good enough to beat these guys.Dauletbekov (KAZ) looks tough, but nothing that Aaron can't handle. Here's Dauletbekov vs Taylor from 2023:

Brooks beat Taylor without much resistance. Considering he beat the dude who was recognized as maybe the best wrestler on the planet and regularly winning live goes with Snyder I am guessing lack of confidence is not going to be an issue. That really wasn't close once DT started pushing things in the 2nd period. IMHO, better than getting Yazdani.Brooks gets the top seed doesn’t he? Is this still a good draw?
