8 straight wins for Flyers vs Pens

Unfortunately, as a Flyers fan I would take the playoffs over 8 straight wins against an opponent any day. The upside I guess is this is supposed to be the strongest NHL draft in years and the Flyers right now have the 7th overall pick and Tampa's late 1st. If Pittsburgh tanks and misses the playoffs, they probably get a mid round 1st..which isnt a bad consolation prize.

I'm surprised there was little talk over the game today. Did find it funny as the Philly crowd chanted "you can't beat us!" toward the end. Always good for this rivalry to be 'on edge' no matter how the teams are doing. Where do the Pens stand now for the playoffs?

At least Philadelphia has a professional basketball team.

Oh wait, never mind

Well since the Pens traded away their 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks, there is little to be gained by missing the playoffs this year, which is looking to be the case right now. Perhaps a complete re-haul/re-build may come out of it. It is needed.

You know things are tough in the 'Burgh right now on the professional sports scene when the Pirates have higher expectations then the Penguins , or the Steelers. Too bad they play in arguably the toughest division in MLB right now. Both the Pens and Stillers are going through transition rebuilding periods, with the Steel Boys hopefully ahead of the curve vs the Pens. May be some prolonged tough times for them IMO.

...let's see...

...the Pens finished ahead of the Flyers...

...the Pirates did better than the Phillies...

...and the Steelers finished higher than the Eagles...

...three for three...

...that's fine with me...

I grew up with this so no biggie. Wasn't it like there was a period of 11 years the Pens didn't win in Philadelphia?
