#9 PSU

Pretty reasonable.

Everything still in front of them if they can fix the issues vs Indiana and play their best possible game at Columbus. Do that, and you are right back in the top 4 convo.
Not just in the convo but would then become #4 again ;)

Even better yet, beat Indiana and upset OSU.

Being only two spots ahead of Florida is not good in terms of a NY6 bowl. Assuming we lose to OSU, we we are very likely to drop below Florida. That would give SEC 4 teams for the NY6:
  • LSU & Georgia/Bama in the playoff bowls
  • Georgia/Bama in the Sugar
  • Florida in the Orange (as the highest ranked SEC/Big10 team)
The good news is that Baylor is still 4 spots down so if they lose twice they will fall and remove the Big12 as a viable 2-team conference for the NY6. Utah being two spots ahead of PSU is interesting. They Pac12 would be the next conference to push PSU out of a NY6 slot.

I don’t understand why we’re behind Utah and Oregon, but oh well. It will take care of itself

Amazing what a #17 team did to the #4 BCS ranked team. Either Penn St was waaaay overrated or Minny was waaaay underrated. You decide.

I’ll go with we were overrated. My point was that winning a close game still gave them a huge boost. In the old days, good chance we would have moved down to 8 or 9 and they get to around 11 or so. It is what it is.

Georgia should not be #4. That affects everything else. They should’ve dropped out of the top 10 like Oklahoma with bad losses.

Not enough credit being given to Minn and Baylor for being undefeated so far. Minny just beat #4.

I think they're pushing for a Pac 12 team. SOS for Oregon and Utah isn't very strong.
That is an understatement. Oregon lost to Auburn. I think their best win is Washington. Utah is not that much better. I believe they lost to USC. That any PAC-12 team is I the Top 10 is debatable.

So Georgia's home loss to South Carolina is significantly better than our road loss to Minnesota, mmmk.
And Alabama’s loss at home to LSU is better than Minnesota’s win at home over Penn State. Minnesota should be #5.

The committee has shown you can make up for an earlier season loss... Remember when Clemson lost to Pitt a few years ago and they still won the Natty?

Ridiculous rankings.
So if Georgia beats LSU in the SEC Championship game they would get in with a HOME loss to SC over a PSU team that would have beat OSU, Michigan, Iowa and Minnesota with a loss on the ROAD to Minnesota
