A Different View of Beau’s Decision

He may very well have some sort of mental illness or personality disorder.

Adam Friedman, a respected writer covering college football, writes a very comprehensive piece explaining the complicated decision it was for Pribula, and some blowhard on an anonymous FREE internet message board tells him he's full of shit because he knows better.

Does it get any more f'd up than that?
It wasn't a complicated decision
Allar returned to school--he knew he had to leave
He then had 3 options--leave now (which he did), announce after the game against SMU or wait until the season end
He took "what is best for me" as he should have.
Where's the problem here--just that he blamed the NCAA for his actions

How do you know it wasn't a complicated decision? Because you said so? LMFAO.

Yeah, easy decision......................................

Pribula grew up in Pennsylvania and, as he said, “it has always been a dream of mine to play football for Penn State.” Instead of helping his team during their most meaningful stretch of games since Joe Paterno was patrolling the sideline, Pribula - a very important piece of the Penn State offense - has been cornered by the NCAA into making a choice: staying loyal to his teammates or doing what is best for himself and his family.

Make no mistake about it - there are millions of dollars at stake. So what is Pribula supposed to do?

Hey everyone, the ignore button is your friend. Don’t feed the troll.

It's more fun watching him act like a total fool and relish it. Seriously. But I suppose you do make a good point in that maybe, just maybe, if everyone just stopped giving him attention, he'd stop posting.

He wasn't cornered....that's a lie. He had the option to stay and decided not to.
He also wasn't an important piece in our offense.
Within hours he made his decision. Couldn't have been easier

I don't need people to respond to correct them lol

He wasn't concerned...... Because Loado Commodo said so...... LMFAO.....

So, if they just change that they need to be enrolled, he could finish the playoffs? Seems like a simple solution. It has nothing to do with academics anymore
That would certainly work on some level, but it would not be without its own problems. Keeping the portal closed for all players until the conclusion of the playoffs would also place all the players on the same level in looking for new teams. It's true that the NCAA provides a window after the playoffs for athletes involved in those games. It's also undeniably true that players who wait will have fewer options that those that entered the portal in early December. There are only so many open doors to good situations to begin with, and many of those are going to be closed by the time a playoff team is eliminated. The NIL pool will also be depleted. All that said, making all the players wait until January would produce its own chaos, and I don't know that there are any good solutions.

Two things I know: first, Franklin made a public statement praising Beau to the high heavens, stressing that he totally understood Beau's difficult decision, and declaring that he would recruit Beau again in a heartbeat for his talent and qualities of character. I'm thinking that maybe the coach is a better judge of these issues than am I or anyone else here.

Second, Beau stepped in and saved our season in the second half against Wisconsin when we were behind on the scoreboard and had lost all momentum along with our starting QB.

Several weeks later, Beau has made a judgment about what is in his own best interests. Just like everyone does...coaches...players...administrators...everyone. That's become the system. That's what the system expects. That's what the system has been engineered to produce.

Therefore, the idea of chucking that out the window for the honor and glory of Dear Old State is quaint but laughable. In the end, a game is a game. And your life is your life. Everyone puts their lives before a game.

Beau has visited or will visit at least four major programs and I think he's got a good shot to start at one of them. I wish him the best...except against us..,given that word is a couple of these programs (Iowa and Indiana) are in the Big-10, and I think we play both of those teams next year.

This is all great but no one has criticized him for leaving

So now we know the real COWARD THE GIRLY LOADO!! The hate spews like the Yellowstone Geyser. Every 30 minutes or so!
You still haven't acknowledged you were wrong and accused me of saying something PurposePitch did. Just like you're refusing to accept with Beau

Schools are pursuing portal players right now. Just like we got a commit from the USC WR. Waiting might close a few doors.

Yes Beau could have played but he likely wanted to get moving with his future school. It's possible that Franklin wanted that too because he didn't want any distractions.

If Allar did this you would be tripping all over yourself defending him. You are a Privula hater, always have been and two faced on top of it.
If Allar transferred before playoff game as our starting QB I'd defend him? Interesting
I hate how we used him...not the kid
I still don't hate him. He's just a coward for blaming the NCAA

All fair but I never said he shouldn't go now. I have no issue with that. He had options though.

You also don't know that Grunk is the better option for 2026.
It's all opinion but I'm always taking the guy with more upside. I think Beau leaving is best long term. You can disagree with all that want. Just don't pretend you were a Grunk supporter in 2 years when he's better than Beau

I'm not predicting anything. I was hoping that Beau could be another McSorley type QB and that his scrambling would but time for WRs to come open. And yes, I suspect a 4th year Pribula could be better than a 2nd year Grunk.

The difference is I have opinions. You act as though your opinions are facts.

And I don't want another McSorley type. That's not good enough to win a national title.
I'd rather Grunk play and develop.
It's not a fact but if you wish Beau stayed then you're not supporting Grunk to start in 2026. That part is.
Beau was never likely going to start here and I'm glad the likely is no longer a concern

Do you realize no one cares what you want? You are a blowhard. A joke. A very bad joke.

Correct. I realized no one cares
Just like I don't care about your obsession with me
Your mistake is that all of us are supporting Beau from sickos like you, not an obsession with the author.
You are a deviate stalker of a fine young player and young man who simply desires to move on to a program where he can compete to be a starting QB, a natural and healthy instinct and desire.
You are truly one sick pervert. Bask away in your mental illness bozo.

The problem is that athletes can only participate in team activities if they enrolled at the school. When an athlete has to make their move varies significantly based on school calendars . No, it's not about education, even when kids leave high school in December and enroll for the spring semester. They do it so they can start participating in team activities and getting the benefits and preparation the program has to offer. It's a bigger deal for transfers because the sooner they can start with the new team the better chance they have of accomplishing the sports goals that drove their decision. It is what it is until the rules change and athletes are no longer required to be enrolled students.
Oh I get it that they need to be enrolled. The comment/question in that regard going backwards in the thread was that Pribula’s potential offer(s) are contingent on him saying yes now and he couldn’t wait until Jan 20.

Here is how Pribula could have easily had his cake and eaten it too. Defer grad school one semester. Play with PSU in playoffs and help them go for the gold. Very few players will ever sniff a championship and we know PSU’s path is one of the easier paths out there. It’s right there for the taking. If he is as good as he believes, there will be teams that desire him in beyond January. The one semester off really makes no difference and it allows him to try to fulfill a dream of playing for PSU and winning a championship. That isn’t a hard decision.

That simply is not true - if he doesn't enroll until summer, he would miss Spring Practice (and the Spring Game) which is hugely important for a new player on a team (it allows the player to get acquainted with the team, playbook, etc... and the coaches to the player. This is especially true for a QB.). If he didn't enroll until Summer Semester, his first exposure to the team would be Summer workouts a couple weeks before the first game. Having a new prospective starting QB enroll in January would be hugely important, not a minor thing, to his new team.
