I never caught the back story to how/why that name came about.

When he was a commit, Think he was a cadet world team member . Not sure if he won gold or if he even medalled but it was around that time they started giving him that name like he was gonna rule and dominate the wrestling world like a Russian or something.

IIRC, some tHR homers got all excited comparing Warner to Rocky IV when the former was scheduled to go to a tournament in Russia. Adding “-ov” to his last name somehow conveyed that he was destined to become a dominating force to be feared . . . because he spent a few days in Russia.

Kerk chooses bottom. No first move. Still nothng. Hip separation, to feet and out in 27 secs. 3-1 Kerk. 33 secs adv for Kerk. Cass shoots. Kerk backs OOB and calked got stalling. Quick shot on restart by Kerk and super quick finish again! 5-1 Kerk. Kerk out of position on top…. Cass gets late reversal. 5-3 Kerk after two. 1:15 adv Kerk.

Cass chooses bottom. Kerk riding. Kerk has an earlier stall call. Has to be careful. Cass up and out 1:12 to go. 5-4 Kerk. Riding point clinched. Cass shoots and gets in deep. Close to a TD. Kerk finally gets hips back, circles and Kerk gets TD! 7-4! Escape Cass. 8-5 final with riding time for Kerk!!!!
