All Star Classic - Sat, Nov 16

Yeah. Maybe I’m off base but there seems to be a majority of non PSU fans picking PK here. What am I missing here as a PSU homer? I saw what happens when he goes up against a generational guy like AB and Carter is every bit as good as AB in folkstyle in his own way. I see Carter grinding him down like 6-2 or 8-4 or so. Carter is very much not Dustin Plott. I just remember how great a healthy, motivated Carter is - e.g. annihilating Hidlay and Labs.
You're not missing anything.

You are missing nothing, but the bitterness the lungs of PSU haters put into the circulation system from sucking on PSU's exhaust.

This awesome weekend is finally here! Tonight is the Tyson boxing match. I know it's a bit gimmicky but I'm excited to see what he can do at his age. They are using the heavier 14oz gloves but I'm still hoping someone gets knocked out. 🥊 Tomorrow night we have the NWCA and UFC 309 with Bo. Then Sunday our season kicks off with what will be a rough afternoon for Drexel at 1pm.

That's an amazing weekend of action. I'm glad every weekend isn't like this I'd never find time for anything else. 😉

Haven’t seen any Flo interviews from wrestlers in this event. You’d think they’d be interviewing everyone. Odd

Unless Cael locked the door on them, this makes no sense

Purely wishcasting on the part of PSU haters. Add in dislike of Carter for his unapologetically aggressive social media presence and there you have it.

Could PK win? Sure. Is it likely? Not at all.

For people with experience with the West Deck...

My buddy and I are coming up earlier in the day to watch the football game and have some beers somewhere downtown. The parking pass available through the app says you have to arrive after 5.

What happens if I arrive before 5? Do I get the hourly charge before 5 and then the event charge kicks in after that?

There are some fantastic tidbits from Carter in this interview.

After Carter's second match at NCAAs last year he said he got down on himself, but then Cael told him, "You can win with a bad knee or you can win with a bad attitude, but you're probably not going to win with both, and you're stuck with the bad knee..." That inspired Carter to change his attitude.

His Dad told him, "If you're in someone's face the entire match; seven straight minutes, you'll find out how their parents raised them real quick."

Carter said a lot of guys may be "ducking & dodging." As an example, "For Levi & the Missouri kid, I just feel like there's no reason that match-up's not going down. This is the All Star Classic, let's get things going."

He admits Keck kind of dominated everybody last year, but he's not everybody. He said Keck has one title, but he accomplished that when he was a teenager & he's been beating NCAA champs for a while. He thinks he's probably beaten more NCAA champs than anyone else.

He said he's under 184 right now. He said he can get as high as 188-190, but his weight naturally comes down as he trains. He doesn't expect to be cutting much, if any, weight this year.

Carter said his knee has been 100% for a while.

I was wondering the same thing. My buddy and are are leaving Harrisburg around noon, and doing the same thing as you.

Anyone else signing up for FLOPRO bowling this month for the 3 events?
is FLOPRO bowling cheaper than other 1 month FLO subs? I thought they were all ~$30 per month regardless of which sport you signed up under, no?

While on this topic, is anyone aware of any discounted BTN+ or BTN options this year?

Flo Bowling was one of the sports that I found that you can get a 1 month subscription. I may be wrong but I don't think they offer a 1 month subscription in all sports.

As for BTN+, I haven't found anything. It also appears you can not pick just a 1 school subscription for $8.99/month anymore. It is now just $12.99/month for all of BTN+. Others may correct me if I am wrong.

This. They dropped the "1 school option" & now it's just a monthly or annual subscription option.

Here's a pre All-Star match interview with Levi. Hopefully, this shows up on Youtube later for those without Flo, but if not, here are some highlights.

He's wrestling bigger guys now. He only mentions wrestling Kerk by name & laughingly says, "You can't do anything (against him)"

He doesn't know much about his opponent tonight, nor does he have expectations for the match. He's just going to go out & score.

He's looking forward to watching everyone else tonight, especially Van Ness, because he's been out for so long. He said Van Ness still brought energy to the room while he was hurt, but having his energy back in the line-up is something everyone else can feed off.

He said it was a good experience wrestling O'Toole, but he acknowledges freestyle is different than folkstyle.

Levi gained a lot of weight really quick & said the adjustment was pretty natural. He said, "I still have to lose weight to make 174, so it's not like I'm just walking in & easily making weight." But, he wasn't asked & didn't mention how much he has to lose, or how heavy he can get.

Well my wife still loves me, my kids tolerate me, no one is shooting at me, my password to my work computer still works and I am listening to Jeff Beyers call a wrestling match... all is good in the world.

In the women's matches (the McBryde sisters), two really quick fall calls in two matches. I know it's freestyle but in the one instance the woman's shoulder was way up in the air. Maybe I don't understand the rule, but imo way too quick.

Would you please a link to Byers? I can't find one.

Announcers just mentioned that Illini Zac Braunagel is in his 7th year. What? That's too long, sorry.

Carter going for his 5th title......has he even been at PSU that long?

BTW: Great match....even though it was a low scoring SV match for Little. Little is totally ripped.
