Although a bit controversial, I am pulling for tOSU to win out

Hearing/reading a lot of anti-Big 10 sentiment and that tOSU hasn't really played anybody. If they win the national championship, our loss looks pretty good.

I've thought about this one a lot. I would rather OSU lose their remaining games and we win our remaining game, whatever that might be. We're not in it this year and that seems to be all that really matters anymore. The thing that helps us get in it in the future is OSU losing. I really don't give a crap about perception of the conference.

Pulling for OSU to blowout Wisconsin. Don't really care what happens in the playoffs, although if somehow a team like Baylor were to squeeze in I would be pulling for them.

Pulling for OSU to blow out Wiscy so PSU can lock up Rose, but after that, I want to see OSU go down. I realize that’s not good for the perception of the Big 10 overall, but I already struggle mightily in dealing with OSU’s arrogance. It will only increase if they win it all.

OSU is our number one opponent in recruiting.

Them winning helps us in no ways.

I’m basically parked here as well. James Franklin and his staff are recruiting at an extremely high level, but let’s face it, we lose the very best 4-5 star recruits when going head to head vs Ohio State almost every time. Or maybe I should say the vast majority of the time, we are bridesmaids when recruiting head to head for a top recruit vs OSU.

If they win the BCS national championship that would only make it worse IMO, so I cannot root for them in the BCS playoffs. I realize it may be better for the conference and possibly our final ranking if they win, but that doesn’t offset the recruiting issue, which is the top priority in trying to close the remaining gap that still exits between our programs. Besides if we win our New Year’s Day bowl game, our final ranking won’t be effected much either way.

Hope OSU has to play Clemson and LSU some how.

Don't care where we go just want to play an SEC team. Regardless of whether it should be this way or not, the only way the college football world seems to acknowledge anyone is if you get it over an SEC team. Want the team to have an opportunity to do this...have another game like a few years back against LSU when Tony Hunt made them squeal ... would be nice.

There is a certain joy at the prospect of wisky winning and getting the roses while osu struggles with attrition at an unwelcomed bowl game while we... well, while we WHAT? I wouldn't presume anything re a NY6 game if osu loses and we might find ourselves playing another kentuckyish opponent and laying a turd (again) because our guys could care less.

So i'll take an osu rout, a rose bowl game vs oregon or utah. And win.

Then I'll take osu to run the table and suddenly we lost to THE #1 team in the land on a day we could have won in columbus. The B1G will be THE big cheese and as the #2 team, that makes us pretty damned resepctable.

And yeah osu keeps getting these 5 star guys but the fact is we should have won in 17 and 18 (hell, we might even have had a shot this year) to go along with '16... in short, we're quite competitive with osu, even in a year where all the experts said we had NOOOOOOO chance.

IOW, I'll play second fiddle here with a chip on my shoulder. I'll take great pleasure in knowing Michigan knows who has replaced them as bridesmaids.

So i'll take an osu title run and make hay outta it. We win out, especially against scorned utah (presuming they win and get stuck at 5), we'll finish in the top 6 in a season most presumed we'd flounder.

Hate the B1G but this is the hand we're played and there is zero value in playing in a league that is laughed at.... think ACC. Keep the chip on the shoulder, keep playing hard, and good things will happen.

lol that's ok I'll still pull for PSU. The only way for the SEC bias to end is to beat their best teams convincingly. I hope OSU gets to face UGA in the semi's and LSU in the finals. PSU has a real possiblity of facing Alabama in the Outback. Wins over those teams, who knows in the future maybe they will be talking about taking 2 B1G teams.

How confident are you that PSU could beat Bama? The last part of the season has made me wander. I think they can compete with every team regardless...

Not impressed with Bama this year. Defense is shaky, especially run defense. Auburn rb was gashing them. Definitely think PSU could beat them.

I hold no resentment towards OSU. I hope they win it all. I refuse to root for someone else to do what we can't. I respect and admire how great of a football program they have.

My wish is that we catch and pass OSU based on our own achievements.and growth.

I agree. Having a Big 10 team win the whole damn thing would increase the chances of more Big 10 teams being selected for the playoff.

Folks love complaining about “SEC Bias” but the reason such a bias exists is because the SEC usually wins. It’s not because playoff committee has some kind of fondness for the Deep South.

If you're going to be in the hunt in most years you don't want to come from a weak conference....that is the bottom line.
Precisely, despite the hatred, we need osu to do well. Perception of conference/schedule strength is everything when you are on the bubble and we should be highly competitive next year with a realistic shot to get into the playoffs.

So if LSU, Utah and Baylor win this week, who gets the final spot in the playoffs?

Also, what would happen to Clemson if Virginia pulls the upset?
