Anyone Feeling Cold Today?

…..but I’d miss the change of seasons that we enjoy here in Central Pennsylvania … 🥶 😆
I lived in Yuma for 4 years and was miserable. Everything was brown, no seasons, and the only time I left Yuma was to go to Iraq, and it was pretty much exactly the same scenery. Winters were warm though!

80 in LA. Grew up in State College, went to PSU. One day it was -51 with the wind chill - believe 1972-73.

This storm looks really bad.

Were you stationed at the Marine Corps air base in Yuma? I have some good friends who are there now and my wife’s dad was the XO there in the 70s.

I looked into buying a Honda generator during this cold snap.

Honda is the cream of the crop. All generators that I looked at said "not for sale in California".

That place is nuts and my son, wife and Granddaughter live there. Just glad they left the city. On the other hand while it was 1 degree here in metro Pittsburgh on Friday is was 50 degrees there.

Having hvac issues in Austin. Blower but no heat Thursday night. Repair guys fixed Friday am. Same thing just happened. Dispatch said they can’t come until Monday am - so no heat for the 2 coldest nights of the year during this unusual cold snap for this area. I have the repair guy’s cell # and am guilt tripping him. He’s at a movie but hopefully he has a heart and will fix this permanently. Gave the guy a tip too.

Gas fireplace here which is decorative pretty much - puts out almost no heat past 6 feet away.
CT, do you have heat? Diagnosis?

Oh, thanks for checking. They came out and noticed lower gas pressure - said that shouldn’t happen once you set the pressure, but it could be a valve or some minor blockage due to the extreme cold. Everything else looked good.

They will likely replace the valve if it happens again. No issues since he restored the pressure to correct setting

If someone gave me a 1 million dollars and told me I’d have to live in California for the rest of my life, I would turn it down. It wouldn’t be economical. Said another way, I’d choose to live in California, Pa than the state of.
