Apke runs a 4.35 40....4.34 OFFICIAL TIME

Has anyone from Penn State ever run better than Justin King (4.31)?

Why isn't that racist? A person of different ethnicity using innuendos to make jokes about things a certain ethnicity may be perceived to be lagging in or bad at doing. On live TV? I thought that sort of thing was considered to be racist even if statistics might support the thought?

Really?
But are you "outraged"?

One would think so, but think it is the wrong rabbit hole to go down.

Not at all. I just think that the same standards should apply to all of us regardless of race.

Curious - which games are losses?

Our schedule benefits us greatly by having Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan State and Iowa at home. I still think we lose at least 2 of those. I also think Michigan beats us if they have Shea Patterson under center. I think we take a step back next year then bounce back to 10+. 9 is probably a better bet than 8 so I'm probably underselling. Let's say 9

just curious why would we step back with a Senior QB, but then get 10+ with a QB which to this point, has not played? (baring injury)

Why? If the roles were reversed would it still be the wrong rabbit hole? I thought we were supposed to see people as individuals. And I thought we were supposed to be sensitive to race issues. And I could have sworn that someone had a dream and it wasn't to have race based jokes on national TV.

Still recall 21guns saying he was slow and he belong at Duquesne level football or lower. LOL. I recall my rebuttal saying he was one fastest sprinters at states in high school.

Guns went with eye test and disagreed. Where is 21guns now?

While I do think last season was a disappointment, yes, many times the program has even exceeded my expectations. The 2016 football team being the most recent example. We were better than our record last year.

Next year I'm only expecting 8 wins...since many think we'll win 11+ you'll probably like my reaction
Good, you can expect 8 and well, you'll be wrong....on the low side of course.

He is on the Duquesne board.

JMHO, Not so much about being underrated as it was about not having the depth needed at key positions to stand up to that Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State gauntlet.
THIS ^.

Experienced depth. And I don’t think the player roster depth is as interesting a question for 2018 as the staff depth. The coaches have done an amazing job with identifying and developing the talent they had. Fingers crossed the staff can keep it going. Two more years like the last two and CJF will have cemented himself as a genius. Already seems close to undeniable

Barkley, Gesicki, the DBs....we're losing a lot.
I understand why people expect great success next year (Trace) but looking at the team as a whole I don't see it. I think we'll be very good just not elite. Saquon & Gesicki are bigger losses than people want to acknowledge IMO. I also very pretty much zero confidence in Sanders

Exactly! A team with a Heisman contender is NOT expected to go 8 - 4. And this team has stars that we don't even know are stars yet. Trust me on that one.

Lamar Jackson and Louisville 2017 would like to say hi....and he actually won a Heisman

Would that sense of humor be nice if someone started posting funny innuendos about minorities? I guess the crux is that racist jokes are funny to people not of that race who are racist. To others, racist jokes are just racist.

There's 5-6 games we could lose. I say we go 9-3 given the home heavy schedule. I believe the players that we lost are harder to replace than most apparently. We'll find out

Troy Apke just made himself some money. He and Gesicki blew it up.
Everyone expected Saquon to dominate so, as good as he was, it was no surprise.

I'm just wondering at this point where Apke goes. I'll be honest. I thought he was late arriving to too many plays last season, and did not consider him one of the Lions' defensive mainstays. But the NFL folks seem to love the combine stats, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up getting drafted.

Early day 3 probably....maybe late third. The film just isn't there.

"sound logic and reasoning" do not seem to be things you should be lecturing anyone else about.
You can't even articulate your logic. Your logic thus far is a GIF and clip from a show. Those aren't even your own thoughts.

My logic is simple. No person should say innuendos about another ethnicity, let alone on National TV. It is racist. It doesn't matter which race you are nor does it matter the race in the innuendo. It is racist. What applies to one, applies to all.

Apke went from an UDFA to being drafted with that combine performance. Who knows where, but he made himself some money today.

Definitely no worse than a 3rd round pick at this point. His 40 looked effortless too.
