It's easier than talking to people face to face. He can type whatever he wants from his ivory tower, ignore the comments, and put it behind him until the next one. I picture his "hands up" pose. "Hey, I'm listening, don't you see I put out a blog and then you guys can comment on it?"

Get off his back. It's not like he doesn't have a lot of free time so that leaves plenty of time to do a 'blog' like every self important teenage girl about the big topics of the day. I mean, it's not like he has outstanding work to do like......oh, I don't know........reviewing the Freeh report that cost (and continues to cost) the university millions upon millions of $$$$ as he promised.
Only from a different room so they can turn the volume off. Wouldn't want people who ruin the university interrupting his blog.
