Between Schiano and LJ's rumored retirement, wonder what defensive prospects think of it all?

Obviously, it appears as if it is just a matter of time for half of the Buckeye's defensive staff to depart. There is a very, very low likelihood that kids committing to them will actually play much if at all for the defensive staff that has recruited them. Weird situation where it seems like it might be better for Ohio St to just move on from those guys now instead of letting significant instability just hang over their program.

You don't think Schiano is going to keep his job at OSU?

Why would recruits care? This is old news. Meyer is still there and he will always have a great staff. If you want a chance to win the national championship and play in the NFL, OSU is one of the places to be.

I think recruits would care if their D cordinator had accepted a job at Tenn and then had it ripped away due to public backlash and the Dline coach who is approaching 70 and at least 350lbs has been rumored to retire. It leaves a huge question mark.

Who is going to coach the defense? Why are coaches accepting jobs and recruits only hearing about it when the media catches wind of it? Any other coaches moving on that they aren't telling recruits about? When do these 2 coaches who are defintely leaving soon actually leave? Even more troubling if they told recruits that these guys weren't going anywhere only to find out one would be coaching at Tenn if they didn't consider him to be toxic.

Of course they care. They establish relationships with the coaches who recruit them. It doesn’t necessarily mean they will go elsewhere but it does have some impact.
