I consider it an upgrade though Penn State basketball historically isn't much better (if any better) than Vanderbilt football. Notre Dame basketball isn't on the level of Penn State football but we also had historic sanctions at the time.
Franklin was only at Vandy for 3 years--let's not pretend there a huge difference there. He jumped the first chance he had as did Shrew. Neither did anything wrong. It's business.

He was there for 3 years (and if he had more success sooner, or he was offered the PSU job a year earlier, I have no doubt he would have been willing to leave after the second season)...and yes.
